I have the ub820, this might been the better cheaper option. But it was the cheapest that could auto switch for Dolby vision.

Advice for those who want to find a player to use for their home theater: You should not choose Japanese brands like Panasonic or Sony or something like that, but you should choose reputable South Korean brands with better sound quality like Samsung or LG. Thanks.

Just brought the NZ 450 version today and looking forward to watching LOR 4K. How do you feel it performs compared to the 420?

They are very close, most people won't see a difference between the two players.

@@hometheaterhobby9450, I was very impressed with the 4k output and watching LOR/The Hobbit far more detail than 1080P on my 75 inch Sony. Makes for meaningful improved viewing pleasure :)

Hi, as I did some research on this model. It lacks wifi connection. But just wanted to know, what if don't have wifi and cable internet in the house, how to make the software update? Is possible to use USB to update? Or without an update, it's still totally useable? I'm also thinking Sony X700, but just don't know which one to pick up. Thank you.

You could always move the unit to an LAN connection point. I think both are great players. I’d go with the one that meets your personal preference.

I am baffled and I do not understand why you went with a uk version of the player? I live in the US and IM seeking a player that plays all of the formats is ultra HD and accommodates Dolby atmos and Dolby vision. I have a good 4K TV.

I have a collection of region B disc. I use my ub9000 for everything it will play, and this is my backup for the locked disc.

I use the region B one for discs that are fully locked. That way I can enjoy my disc bought while traveling in Europe.

Great question! I have three. One for watching in my home theater, the second is a region B player for movies I own from the UK. Lastly is a backup in case they stop manufacturing or become expensive due to supply and demand. Let's face it; the market is small due to streaming services.

Hi, great videos. I just bought this player. Only what I did with settings was RGP -> YCbCr. I dont see any difference between 4K and regular blu-ray. My tv-settings are ok. If I stream 4K from KZbin or Netflix its LOT better. Something is messed with this player.

Hi! Thanks. With the upscaling abilities, you should only see a significant difference with HDR.

@@hometheaterhobby9450 Thanks matey. I Have tested it now with Jaws HDR10, Fury Road, 2019 Godzilla, Predator, Gremlins and The Shining. I have watched really close. My tv is 58" Samsung Q60. I have compared those all possible ways. I cant find any advantage from HDR. Some colours are little washed with HDR. My friend has same player and he has same experiences. Example Jaws 4K. It should be pretty good quality 4K. I dont see anything. Could it be something in settings? I know my tv settings are ok. Compared to streamed 4K, movies look lot worse. I am lost with this now. How streamed 4K looks absolutely stunning compared movies from disc? I am lost with this. :/ And greetings from Finland!

You have to remember HDR is about true colors, and it might not look as “bright” or “colorful.” It's about presenting the information in a natural way, much different than photos. I personally am not a huge fan of HDR.
