5:15 You can also clear the indicator by holding # for a few seconds in standby. VM Tone Detect is pretty cool as it allows the phone to detect new voicemail not just by the FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) signals sent by the phone company, but also by seizing the line checking for a stutter dial tone. If it hears that tone, the indicator turns on. This way, the indicator will almost always activate, compared to when it only turns on via the FSK signals since those are only sent once with each new message. When you hang up a phone with this feature or it stops ringing, and you notice a brief "In use" on another phone, that's the Panasonic set checking for that stutter tone.

Those are pretty cool ringtones. #8 is called Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. It's played at weddings a lot and is done at Christmas by Transiberian Orchestra. I'll have to get me a Panasonic sometime, I don't have one yet.

Thanks.. Panasonic has made some pretty good phones over the years.. I haven't used this enough to say how good the quality is but I doubt it's as good as it used to be..

0:11 N means gold. This phone is a very subtle shade of champagne gold. I would guess they didn't use G for gold because G means Germany on the Germany models. The rose gold they have now on models such as the KX-TGD560 is more pronounced, and is suffix G. That's the first time I've seen a suffix that means a different thing depending on the model and where it's sold. Usually the letter indicates the color. SK means it's only sold at Costco. A subtle update was made to the model if there's a number after this letter.

In terms of the answering system, you enter the remote code while the greeting is playing. It then beeps and announces the number of messages.
