As usual, an excellent video tutorial, full of basic facts but which can't be said too often. Graham's videos are always clear, concise and informative.

Great info. Used my fz300 at Yellowstone National Park last year and got much improved pictures. Love to take wildlife and nature shots this camera is great upgrade from a standard point and shoot. Your past videos have been a big help in learning to use this camera. Still looking to learn more. I also want to say thank you so much for all of your help. If it wasn't for your help I don't think the camera would have ever left IA mode.

Hi Graham great video thanks for sharing. Im struggling with my FZ330 in video mode. On a tripod self filming facing camera. Using a long zoom to get blurry background. Having problems knowing what auto focus mode to use. Sometimes it locks on the background and not me. A video on that subject would be great.

I can only speak from a Panasonic Micro 4/3 perspective but I like -5 on noise reduction and +1 or +2 sharpening. I find that although more noise is introduced, the extra sharpening actually gives the noise a film grain type look, since the edges (of the noise artifacts) become more defined. I know it feels a bit counterintuitive to want to emphasise noise further but from an M4/3 point of view at least, I really enjoy the results.

This is great! I found this particularly useful. I had been trying to shoot everything in f2.8 as much as possible and adjusting shutter-speed and ISO only to get my exposure set. I was thinking that the more light being let in to hit the sensor would produce highest quality images, but I'm finding that outdoors f4.0 -- f4.5 is producing better images. Before, when I was zoomed in a fair amount, the edges of objects would always turn out blurry and I couldn't figure out why. Apparently, that must have been it, because I'm getting better results.
@GrahamHoughton124 жыл бұрын
The centre at F2.8 is usable but does improve at F4 and the edges are much better at F5.6. also zoom settings of 250 and 500 mm EFL have lower resolution due to the optical design so if you avoid these two zones the images will be sharper.

@@GrahamHoughton12 Thanks for your input. I'm already noticing an improvement in image quality.

I use the camera with direct focus set to on all the time, rarely use the touch screen. Pressing the Fn3 button on the FZ300 gives me a menu where I can set aperture, SS, ISO, just about everything I want. That button is also labeled 'Q' menu, so I assume that's what I'm getting. Panasonic has planned for people who don't want to use the touch screen but rarely, it seems. Over all, great videos, have learned most all of what I know about this camera from your tutorials.

Thanks for the series! I'm not super happy with the overall quality from the sensor but for the price, with a sealed body, and a mic port... Nothing comes close to this cameras versatility and affordability. Maybe one day I'll have a reason to upgrade to the G series but this camera is hands down the best entry level video production camera.

Ive got a lot of the fz cameras for ease of use and they are more than good enough. I wouldnt want to upgrade as if i need better photos i have a xt-30 from fuji that i bought new put 230 shots on then set down becuase of covid, ill use that for years.

Once more a very clear and helpful video. You mention in this and other videos post processing or editing photos especially in raw format. Any chance of a session on that?

Another very useful tutorial containing good basic information to enable better image taking. It’s disappointing that the FZ 330 has issues with the zoom lever failing. I thought Panasonic had overcome issues with the bridge cameras I.e rear command dial on FZ200.

Totally agree, and the fact that the whole top plate has to be replaced because the switch is not available as a spare is also ridiculous!

Keep off the auto mode, set the ISO to shoot as low as possible. The FZ82 can take some great shots, it does prefer good light though.

I have just bought a Lumix FZ 82, initial impression are very positive. I do notice however a "grinding " noise when the camera is turned on. Not linked to any action, even sat on my desk with lens cover on it's present. It is however so not picked up on video recording or loud enough to be annoying. Is this just an aspect of the FZ 82 or should I change it? as I have an option to do.

You dropped an alarming bombshell around 12 minutes in when you warned us that the FZ300 has a problem regarding the top zoom lever becoming ineffective after a while! Has this happened to more than one of your cameras and have other people noticed the problem? Is it caused by age or use and if so, after what age or how many photos/videos? Apart from that worrying comment, the video was very informative. Thanks!

Hi, Graham. You've abandoned the FZ1000M2 after doing such a great and thorough job on its predecessor, the DMC 1000. I'm both a new photographer and new to the camera so your input is invaluable. Will we be seeing any updates related to the FZ1000M2? I have your book but frankly there's nothing quite like watching you in action with the videos. Thanks very much.
