For fully powering over USB and loading the battery at the same time, you need a source that has at least "PD 9V 3A". Also there is a simple rule for h264 and h265: If a codec has 4:2:0 it's always h265. If it is 4:2:2, it's h264. The reason is that h265 has a better compression but most computers can not run h265 in 4:2:2. The typical graphic cards on PCs have 4:2:0 support but not 4:2:2 and if the processor has to decode it, it's not running smooth. Panasonic still tries to avoid h265 but if high compression is needed, they have to use it. A typical home-PC can work with h265 in 4:2:0 because typical gaming graphic cards can do that. On corporate PCs you may get into trouble because if they don't have h265 support, it won't work - especially if you want to run the original 6k open gate footage.

The integrated graphcis inside Intel CPUs after 12th gen (included) supports hardware decoding h265 footages, so if anyone have decent CPUs (like i'm using a i9-13900H laptop with iGPU) they should try out editing the h265 footages in DaVinci Resolve Studio, which runs hardware decoding and it rolls h265 footages like butter. And I'm also switching from 4:2:2 to 4:2:0 since I don't find any issue with 4:2:0, there wont be a major difference as long as you're only about editing and fast color grading, not about fine screen keying or visual effects or fine color grading (not about that level), but smoother playback when editing with 4:2:0, that's where makes a difference.

what do u mean by loading the battery at the same time ?
@Ulrich.Bierwisch6 ай бұрын
@@creativegreatsvisuals With PD 9V 3A you can power the camera and over time the internal battery will get back to 100%. This is important for really endless recording. If you have a normal USB power bank the camera will use power from the power bank and also from the internal battery. This helps to extend the time until the battery is empty from 1.5 or 2h to a longer time but sooner or later the camera has to stop. Since the camera can record to the two SD-slots in relay mode it is possible to change the SD-cards while recording, power the camera over USB and for example switch between power banks and internal battery. In theory this allows to record video for an unlimited time without missing a single frame. Is this important? I don't know. I know that a lot of the streamers on twitch are streaming for a pretty long time and power the cameras with a dummy battery. There are also streams of events like the volcano eruption in island, where people stream from positions out in the wild for 24h and longer. This kind of work is easier with uninterrupted power delivery over USB.
@garypranzo93347 ай бұрын
The biggest limitation is the crops but I just purchased a Sigma 14-24 lens and I use crops to avoid changing lenses often. I shoot indoors so by changing Ibis and APSC crops I can go from from full-frame 14mm to the full-frame equivalent of 52mm if I use Apsc and High Ibis. I do not see the differences in quality but I shoot in good studio lighting V-Log 640 or 4000 Iso and do not have much noise. I am aware that Apsc supposedly has bigger noise but I do not see it. 90% of the time I shoot in full frame with Ibis on high which gives me a full frame equivalent of about 20mm - 35mm FOV with the 14 - 24 lens and I set a button to quickly go back to standard Ibis when I want the wider frame. **If you are ok with the crop the High ibis mode is almost gimbal-like and magical. IMHO with little to no warp. ** For h265 you should have an intel CPU with Quicksync video even if you have high-end GPU or Apple M1 or higher chip
