ANYONE READING THIS: Ya'll go and enroll yourself in the Churchfront Academy before purchasing cameras or any other gear for that matter. You'll get a good view of the plan that'll work for your ministry before dropping $$$ on these equipments. Informative vid as usual Jake! 👏🏻 One question tho - how does the BGH1 compare to the BM Micro Studio Camera 4K or the BM Micro Cinema Cameras? I am currently running 1 BMPCC4k and plan to add 1 more to the rig.

Never tried the BM micro cameras. But I'd probably stick with all BM if you already have one.

We bought a canon XA40 last April along with a 5D4...used the XA40 a few times and hated it, and our Pastor finally noticed a quality difference, so maybe I can sell him on buying a GH5 now... should have just bought 2 GH5s anyway since we spent like $4000 total...
@EmeraldAudiovisual2 жыл бұрын
The GH5-II can be controlled via Lumix Tether for Multicam like the BGH-1, once you add a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. It's the only traditional style camera in Panasonics program, that can be used that way.

Nice video!! We have 2x Panasonic fz300, and they are amazing for the price (only around 600$! With an atem mini as the switcher you can have a very easy simple cheap set up, but with the fz300 you do need a well lit front. Not every church has $5000 budget, so if you’r wanting cheap Panasonic cameras with clean hdmi outputs for a budget live stream, the fz300 is perfect.

Does the atem mini act as a video capture device as well?

Nice! We use the bigger brother, the FZ1000. Very solid camera with a great zoom range (25-400mm ff equivelent). The 1 inch sensor, while not as big as full frame or anything like that, is definitely a step up from any camcorders in the price range!

Hey Jake, love what you are doing here on the channel. The resources you provide here are invaluable for the worship ministry. I recently bought a BGH1 camera too. However, I was struggling with picking a lens. I talked to some photographers in our church that informed me that the best lens are the canon ef range. So my question is how well do the lens mount converters work in your experience? Which would you recommend for a medium to small size church?
@Churchfront3 жыл бұрын
Use the app called Cadrage directors viewfinder on your phone and that will simulate different focal lengths. Yeah the EF mounts with the speed booster adapters work great for us.

Have you done a "budget set up" video lately? We are researching new equipment. It was recommended to go with a PTZ camera. I was thinking about using 2 camera set up. But budget is tight
@neilmccarthy62013 жыл бұрын
Use the Panasonic fz300’s cheap bridge cameras (no need to buy lenses), huge zoom and full hdmi output. But make sure the front of the church is well lit up. The lens sensor is small so not amazing quality in low light. Fz300 cost less than $600 brand new. And the standard atem mini as the switcher ($300), the atem will stream directly for you, so no need for OBS. Should be around $1500 in total to buy new, for 2 cams and the switcher. Of course PTZ cameras are a bit costly, but would be great if you have the budget for it.
@vdveenpeter3 жыл бұрын
GoPro hero 8 black are great for fixed cams. And indeed PTZ for all positions.
@egg66493 жыл бұрын
The main problem with PTZ is lighting, if it’s quite bright in your church, go for it. If you have more dynamic areas (bright and dark) I would go for a regular camera, and put the effort in to train someone up on a video tripod.

Jake, Can you tell me your stream setup? I see the GH 5II has an HDMI out to SDI? Then, SDI into what? What software are you using to switch multi cams? Then you push it out to KZbin? I have a GH5II & interested in using two cam stream setup. Thank you! Efrem

@Jake, @churchfrontI bought a GH5II on your recomendation. Is is brilliant. Can you explain how you provide constant power to the GH5 for the purpose of live streaming. Appreciate it! I think I can see a Thether tools Relay with the battery cover open. Is that right?
@emmanuelfilmstudios3 жыл бұрын
You can find it on Amazon or anywhere else. It’s called a “dummy battery” which just connects to a standard wall outlet. Make sure it’s specifically for the camera/battery u are using.
@RobertSababady3 жыл бұрын
@@emmanuelfilmstudios thankyou for your response. They solution you refer to is what I described as a Thether tools Relay in my question. I use a USB - c charger with "Power Delivery" which raises the normal USB voltage to the level required by the interna; batter to charge. In this way I have the battery charging, the camera running of the charger and a backup in case the power goes off. I was more interetsed in @Jake's experience using the method you described as it requires that the camera battery is removed during the live streaming.

Hi, I'm the production team leader for my church. We're currently running our livestream with just one Sony 4K camcorder, however, we are looking at hopefully upgrading in the future. As we are only a small (150 seats max) church, I like the idea of using 2 GH5's at the centre-back (one wide, one zoomed) and then another GH5 on the side wall. The other idea was to just use a couple PTZOptics or Birddog PTZ cameras to cover multiple angles, but from what I've seen, they don't have as nice camera quality... This might be an obvious answer but is there a way with the GH5's (or BMPCC) to remotely turn them on and off, instead of having to climb a ladder and physically push the button each Sunday? Thanks!

I really appreciate your setup for a smaller church. However it appears that you only show the back of the heads of the worshippers. Is that on purpose? If so, how do you engage your livestream worshippers who are seemingly just watching a performance by the band? No disrespect intended, just curious. In my previous worship ministry (I’m now medically retired) we included shots of people participating (singing, praying, and listening etc.) so that those watching the livestream vicariously felt a part of the congregation. We had a much bigger operation to be sure, with numerous volunteers running 4-6 cameras, a video engineer, an audio engineer who mixed just for video, a graphics operator, a technical director (switcher op) and a producer for the day. BTW, all of the team were volunteers. I tried to instill in them that they were as much a part of the worship experience as the speaker/leader or anyone else on the stage.

I'd say for most people need to invest in lighting. These cameras are nice, but with terrible lighting, the type of camera means nothing.

For that sort of money wouldn't you be better off getting something from BlackMagic? If you add the body and lens price, you're talking Ursa / Cinema money.

DON'T plan on controlling the BGH1 true the NETWORK !!! Only USB. I had to do multiple streams for a client in a location with 6x BGH1 freshly and permanently installed in the venue. The only way to adjust the camera settings was planned to be true the network with the "LUMIX Tether for Multicam" app. It's a nightmare, not reliable at all, software is not ready yet. I'm more a fan of Blackmagics PCC4K paired with an ATEM extreme connected true optical HDMI which will let you do all the settings remotely.
@PANAFRAZER3 жыл бұрын
I work for Panasonic and I am curious what version of the tether app you had been using? With revision 1.2, these problems have been addressed and we can control 6 cameras (in-fact we can control 12). Our LUMIX ambassador, PhotoJoseph currently uses 5 in his studio right now. Even with a Mac it is working.
@josua25173 жыл бұрын
@@PANAFRAZER 1.2 just came out in june as far as I know, so we had to work with 1.1 the whole season. Great for them if it's fixed now, I will still wait a few month before using that app for a client in a live environment with no time for trouble shooting again. In my opinion it would have been better to release 1.1 as a non public beta.
