Panasonic PV GS9 Mini DV Camcorder from 2004

Picked up from a CHKD that I rarely get to go to, because it is about a hour from where I live. This camcorder works perfectly and takes very good quality video, except it does not shoot in widescreen.

I've had one of these for years, but left it dormant while i tried out digital then went on to vhs and such instead. Just received batteries for this unit for Christmas and am thrilled it still works like a charm! Its now in rotation as my main vlogs camcorder and tight-spaces tripod recorder.

In the case of miniDV tape never EVER use Maxell tapes, they destroy your heads and then you have a dead camera.

I have this and am looking for a way to turn it back on! I lost my charging cables. Does anyone know of either a charger for the battery or the type of cord that plugs into the area that is behind the battery when it is attached. Thanks.

My issue with this camera is that it has interlacing even when I used FireWire. It gets really annoying especially when I pull down the frame rate to 24p. Literally, there is interlacing in the camera

I just got this camera a few days ago but I’m confused about the tapes. Where do I purchase new ones, how do I know if the tape is full, and how do I digitally develop it?

Perhaps this is a stupid question but please do answer; How did you post the recorded footage from this camera to youtube? Also I'd like to know do I need some sort of special software to use this camera as a webcam or is it plug and play? I have this camera lying around and I was thinking of using it as a high quality webcam for facebook live streams. It would be a great help if you could tell me if this would work on a Macbook. Thanks for posting this video!
