Thanks so much for making a video on this camera. Found this same camera at my grandmothers and been looking for reviews and footage on it

I bought one of these (new, open box) in 2005 as an upgrade from my full size VHS and VHS-C camcorders. Other than the black & white viewfinder, the camera and its features were definitely a step up from the VHS camcorders. Still have it. I used a firewire cable to transfer the video to my DVD recorder. Video resolution is the same as DVD (twice that of VHS). I believe the PV-GS9 was their most basic MiniDV model at the time, so such features as a color viewfinder (which oddly enough, my VHS-C camcorder had) and no SD card slot were missing. Enjoyed the video.

Yeah I enjoyed this camera it’s was pretty fun to film with. I hope you have kept your vhs and vhs-c camcorders. I enjoy filming with vhs stuff a lot and it can be hard to find ones that have all the required components to actually use it like the charger and av cables.

Somehow you got the modern computer to recognize a 1394 or USB ports on this, we need to know this process before we buy stuff I used 5 concussions ago. Like walk us through it, not just possible driver location for a fire wire board we used to plug in to our 733 mhz tower in 2000.

I have quite a few videos on how to capture your footage if you look through my videos.

Hi! Anyway to get some AV/RCA cables on this to somehow connect it to the clearclick video converter
@brandoncameracollection11 күн бұрын
If I remember right a 3-1 av cable should work for you. amzn.to/4f0Busq

Hey I have a very similar one and was wondering how to troubleshoot a problem where it says theirs an sd cars error. Been looking around but can’t find an answer
@brandoncameracollection5 ай бұрын
How big is your sd card? These older mini dv camcorders are only compatible with very small capacity cards
@teddytyburski6075 ай бұрын
@@brandoncameracollection mine is a 16gb but now that you say that it would make sense that it wouldn’t work. I’ll have to order a 2gb or sum
@brandoncameracollection5 ай бұрын
@teddytyburski607 yeah I’m not sure how big of an sd card you can use. Might have to look around on google to see if you can find any info.

I’m eyeing one for super cheap, but honestly don’t want the hassle if I can’t go tapeless. I get it’s small but is there any options that you know of?
@brandoncameracollection Жыл бұрын
Yeah definitely, I made a video on how you can pretty much go tapeless with any camcorder. You’ll have to get a few things for it to work but I think my video is a good blue print for it. [How To] Easily Go Tapeless With Any Camcorder kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGrdZ3Septimgqs

I think I found one for sale on FB. They have it listed as mini dv and sd card camcorder. Can you record video through the sd card with this camera?
@brandoncameracollection2 жыл бұрын
No so camcorders that we’re mini dv sometimes also had sd cards as well. But the sd cards were used for pictures back in the day as videos files were still too big for them. Sd card used to only be about 2GB

@@brandoncameracollection thanks for the info! Any recommendations for an old digital camera that has the same feel as a vhs or mini dv? But uses an sd card rather than tape.

Can I use this to transfer old dv tapes to flash drice

Yeah I would check out the clearclick video 2 digital 2.0. I have a review on it and I’ll leave a link for you as well to the recorder. amzn.to/46RigkO

So I’m not 100% sure what the the actual lens diameter is but from what I can find this one will work. Not sure how wide it will be though. amzn.to/3yksnkg

Wtf lol why are you doing a review on this product now ? Hey quick question the reason that I’m here is because I have some old tapes I want to watch again but lost the cable to the tv …what cable do I need do you know the name of it ?
@brandoncameracollection2 жыл бұрын
I like sharing old tape camcorders for people and making them available for people to buy on my eBay store. And you should be able to use a 3 to 1 rca cable. amzn.to/3BNWbFT
