Thank you for the video, the whole time on a shoot today I was looking for an aspect ratio setting within image quality settings and didn't realize you just pick them within the record quality section. Also, like others have commented, you did pick a different aspect ratio than open gate. You picked 17x9 which is actually wider than traditional 16x9, open gate would be a 4x3 or 3x2.

One of, if not the smallest anamorphic setup possible. Love the S9

Yeah it is especially with better autofocus. You might want to wait as there's a new compact full version of this announced soon the Lumix S9. I might get this later after saving money as a portable full frame version of this.🤞

Can you recommend a card and card size for 6k open gate ? I’ll be getting this camera for podcast and recording should last for about 2hrs.

I'm using Lexar Gold Pro 1800X UHS II 128GB although you might want to try larger capacity if you have the budget for 6K

Great vid! Thanks for explaining - just wanted to check something though - you selected the 17:9 6k mode, is this not just the standard 6k? I thought open gate was the 3:2 mode at the top?

It is 3:2 but there's many options at least for me, choosing 9:16 frame worked well and when I brought into video editor with vertical format, much easier to compose without losing info top/bottom.
