FAQ Answer: This is fundamentally the same camera as the S5 II. So yes, image, rolling shutter, crops, colors, autofocus, stabilization, etc. should all be the same. It's the same sensor and processor. If you want to know more about those aspects, I recommend watching my S5 II review here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIrIk517nMtmgJI This video is just about what's different. Cheers! 🤓👍

Looking like a great camera and something in me keeps saying i should trade my a7siii in for it. But the rolling shutter is important to me because I do 3D camera tracking and don’t want to potentially get bad tracks. I came from a GH5s and went to the A7Siii and I still prefer Panasonics video features. I love the AF, Rolling Shutter and dynamic range of the A7Siii, but Panasonic is just a better experience in my opinion (whatever that means haha). Damn you Panasonic for not making the rolling shutter as good as the a7siii!!! 😭 Do you have any experience or thoughts about 3D camera tracking and rolling shutter?

I seriously hope they update the S5II with the tracking with a monitor connected. Fun fact, using the DJI RS3 and its integrated tracking doesn’t work in the higher resolutions (same behaviour as connecting HDMI) so hopefully that gets solved. It’s be nice if they offered a $300-$400 upgrade to bring SSD recording and all the other features to parity with the S5IIX (not just the RAW recording stuff)- everything except the blacked out design - unless firmware can do that …….. 😳😂🤦🏾♂️

THEY FIXED THE HUMAN DETECT BEING DISABLED IN 5.9K/6K WITH HDMI / DJI RS3 CONNECTED IN THE 2.0 S5II FIRMWARE!!! 🔥 Now …… and this is doubtful, imagine if we can get a paid firmware to enable SSD recording providing there’s no hardware limitation like the USB-C port lol - still waiting on firmware to make the body blacked out 😂🤦🏾♂️

It's important to note that the current SSD limit for this camera is 2 TB. It's listed on the product page, but not a lot of reviews are mentioning this. So if you buy a pro blade /handle combo or just a regular ssd, don't go over 2 TB. After talking with both Kondor Blue and Panasonic they both used the term " current limit" ...so it's possible that this will be expanded upon in the future.

Is 2tb enough for Black Magic raw?
@urswuergler3969 Жыл бұрын
4TB SSDs require slightly more power, which seems to be the issue. If one uses a BDM VideoAssist then 4TB are supported. KondorBlue specifically mentions that there may be a delay saving footage but people have been using 4TB memory for quite some time without any issues. The downside? You will not be able to use a 4TB memory when directly attached to the camera.

As an FX3 owner, this S5iix, with its Prores and raw options, SHUTTER ANGLE, waveforms, vectors scopes, open gate recording and multiple anamorphic desqueeze options is twice the cinema camera my Sony ‘cinema line’ FX3 is. Sony need to step up their game with the software updates because at half the price of the FX3 this thing is seriously tempting.

Screw it. Just pre-ordered. Sony has us celebrating low hanging fruit like releasing firmware updates that allow us to shoot in true 24fps with a 1/48 shutter angle, this camera release really puts how ridiculous that is into perspective. @@geraltstelenheimcorneliust8180 Sony has a better lens selection, and their autofocus is still at the top but I think the new Panasonic system looks really good to where I wouldn't choose Sony for autofocus over the new phase system on this camera. Sony has got to be worried now that Panasonic has reliable AF and is putting it in their feature rich bodies at a lower price point with a better image (imo). Not to mention you get a viewfinder! The HDMI latency is pretty annoying. If using the Blackmagic recorder at least it has 2 xlr inputs on it though so recording without HDMI sound could not be such a big deal if recording externally and not just using a monitor. It's really great to see the braw implementation has seemingly proper white balance and highlight recovery making this combo much more appealing to me than needing to go to a BM pocket series camera for good braw since I am a hybrid shooter and want a modern lens mount.

VLC (or something like it) can take the H.264/5 out of the RTSP stream, and store it into a file verbatim. Having WebCam-style video over USB (i.e. a UVC device) would also be nice to have. @@zsolesz0017 noise performance, absolutely. Because when you crop 1.5x it basically means the noise size (not noise amount) is scaled proportionally. Another great video!! Thinking im gonna scoop this camera up soon.. Super bummed about the latency issues tho.. Side note, how do you only have 380,000 subs?? Never looked/paid attention before, always figured you had millions and millions of subs.. Best camera review channel imo as you dont fk around and get into the nitty/gritty.. There was a time when i watched every single camera review channel but tbh yours is the only one i watch reviews on these dayz

Does the lumix webcam software that came out as a beta during the pandemic work for this? Think that might accomplish the sony just plug-and- go method

I really like my S5 iix with one HUGE exception. It has froze on me twice while doing photo shoots. The screen freezes, the buttons will not work, I have had to turn it off and or remove the battery. I cannot find information on this any where. Can anyone help me with this? After the first episode, I detached the lens, reformatted the SD cards and removed the battery. I am using Lumix batteries and Scan Disk v30 cards.
