In a simple manner this percussion consists of 4 instruments namely Chenda (drum), kuzhal (flute), Kombu (horn flute) and Ilathalam ( plate). Composition starts slowly and passes through many paces reaching its pinnacle at a high speed involving all instruments. The flute is the instrument controlling the entire music, giving instructions to change over pace and stages.
