The dryer pauses and switches directions because this is called reverse cycling, if you dont have this feature on a dryer (depending on what you are drying) will become a tangled mess and won't dry properly. So it's a good thing :D

Thank you for the helpful info! Personally, when I get my dryer, I am not going to use dryer sheets. Expensive and a waste of monies on chemicals. White vinegar in the wash machine rinse or spray bottled onto the clothes before going into the dryer. Less expensive. Environmentally safer. Helps disinfect clothes. Helps soften clothes fibers for a bit quicker dry. Also, will be trying put wool dryer balls. Inexpensive. Eco friendly. Helps soften clothes allowing for a bit faster dry.

@@HomeInTheSticks Hey Dan I have a question. I've been doing laundry all day using the dryer because before getting it our laundry had to be air dried which took forever and the laundry would pile up faster then we could dry it. So late this evening the dryer was still on and it stopped completely and wouldn't start back up again. I don't know if its because it gets overheated from the constant back to back work load but I have to open it to get it to cool down and I have to manually rotate the drum after that to get it to start back up again. Has this happened to you and how do you fix it?

As far as I know most dryers do the reverse spin as well as some washers. I know our local laundry mat sets do. Great video as usual.

Hello Mrs Lucy, welcome to our community and the channel mam!! Yes mam, this machine definitely does that, I guess it has to do with the wrinkle guard function, works like a charm tho!! I thank ya for watching, you have a great week!! Dan

Most of the portable dryers stop and reverse directions every five or so minutes today to prevent the clothes drying in it from becoming tangled.

Hi, I just bought this dryer and it is turning off and back during the drying cycle at random times and doing this throughout the cycle. I have tried to reset it and hold the power button played around with the wrinkle guard buttons but still doing the same thing. Panda has not responded yet so anyone have any ideas?!?

Hello Mrs Rhonda, welcome to our community and the channel mam!! My dryer does the same, it's stopping and reversing itself so the clothes don't get wrinkled!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, have a great weekend!! Dan

@@HomeInTheSticks 👋 Thank you for responding! Is it suppose to start and stop so quickly? For example - It doesn’t seem to stop fully and squeals a bit (rubbers wearing?) It stops then starts and about a min later does the same thing and then runs for a bit and does the start and stop again 2x within the min and squeals a bit. I just want to make sure because that seems like quite a bit of west and tear on the machine to do this so much and the squeal concerns me. 🤷♀️

@@rhondagibson2113 My dryer pretty much comes to a complete stop Mrs Rhonda and it starts again in the opposite direction. I'd give Panda's customer service a call and find out if that's normal as I agree with ya, may be some unnecessary wear going on with your dryer!! Dan

Hi, Has anyone have issues with randomness of the dryer stoping and starting? Its not completely stopping and then starts again and sounds like it’s being hard on the rubbers?!? Any helpful hints from anyone?!? Thank you.

Hey Mrs Rhonda, my dryer does the same thing, it does the start stop thing to prevent the clothes from getting tangled up and wrinkled. The machine is actually stopping and reversing itself. Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, have a good Sunday!! Dan
