The bigger cub was 萌兰/Meng Lan(M) who was born on 4 Jul 2015 and he is 萌萌/Meng Meng's son. The slightly smaller cub was 启启/Qi Qi aka 庆大/Qing Da who is the older cub of a set of male twins born on 16 Sep 2015 & his mother is 庆贺/Qing He. This is the first time that I see cub that was kept together with other adult Panda other than their own mother.

@@garymoh4828 strangest thing, there’s a female Dian Dian, born 6/20/2015, and mom’s listed as “Yang Hua.” It’s odd that they would give two pandas born in the same year the same name. I don’t know if the person mistyped “Ying Hua” as “Yang Hua” as the female Dian Dian’s mom, because I thought Ying Hua has a child named Dian Dian? Is there really a panda named Yang Hua? I know there’s a Ying Hua born 2003 and Da Bai Tu and Fu Xing are just two of many of her children. Please LMK if Yang Hua does exist and is female Dian Dian’s mom and if Ying Hua also has a child named Dian Dian, if you know about them. Thank you for all the great info you provided!

Lovely playful interaction. Did the Mom raise twins, Meng Lan and his sister? If so, that’s unusual because usually the mama bear only Raises only one of the twins.

It happens when the panda baby is born, nanny takes care of the abandoned panda and they often switch the babies to be with momma panda for first few months but after few months mamma panda does accepts both the panda baby with her. But there are also rare circumstances where human intervention were not needed. Few years before panda gave birth to twins and panda herself nurtured the two babies. It was beautiful to watch.
