Whaoo that was one scary night. I was surprised to see the fire department out there? That was a red flag right there. As they said later that they were having problems with people starting fires out there. So they were already looking around when you drove in. I’m surprised they didn’t question you coming in? But I’m sure the arsons never came in, in an RV. I was angus for you all to get moved out quickly. So glad you all were safe. That was one crazy night.

I’m amazed that you didn’t mention you passed a fire crew heading in the would have helped initially to create a location quicker. For example east of contact with FD on main road…. Just a thought

The fire trucks might have been on alert because they have had prior fires and it was the weekend and there were alot of campers. Im glad we left. We never would have been able to sleep!!!

I was evacuated for 11 days this past June! Huge forest fire here in Ruidoso New Mexico. The whole village was evacuated. The fire missed my house by one house beside me and one house behind me. I only had like 5 minutes to evacuate. Only God! 🙌🏻

I'm a retired 911 dispatcher, 25 years doing fire and medical (short stint for PD), when in doubt evacuate, you can think about it when you know that you are safe. You all did a good job and the right thing. 😁😁😎😎👍👍💙💙

Fires are not to be messed around with as they can and do move fast. For the short time I lived in Washington State did get educated on them. There are lots of fires out west and do bring destruction as well as tornadoes and hurricanes. Glad that y'all were paying attention. Hopefully you were able to celebrate the birthday anyway. Yes that's what they do... is clear the forest before any controlled burn, it happened earlier this year. They would never do a controlled burn so close to people camping and specially not at 2 am. I was told by the fire crew that they also don't burn logging pile until the winter time, when there is snow on the ground.
