I'm in agreement on many points... particularly price. Thanks for taking the time to upload :). However... Regarding the hinterlands 'challenge' I would have thought it very important to mention that the hinterlands spaces are NOT simply another city. The shared knowledge action on these spaces allows trading ANY city cards that match the space's colour. imho this creates a significant enough change that it still holds my interest :). Additionally the animal iconography pleases my young family of budding virologists :-D. Also... The emergency events sort of 'force' you to play a certain way while they are in play. They seem to have a similar game effect as virulent strain from on the brink without the building 'crescendo of death' effect of staying in play. I suppose the difference is that these can't be eradicated :-/. My guess regarding the plastic pieces is that they are to complement the plastic pieces from second edition pandemic *shrug* :(. I am considering getting some lab coats, overalls, uniforms, etc and playing all the expansions together... Now... Where can I source a gas mask cheaply :-D

I wish they would separate all these modules into individual pieces. Would be easier to just buy the modules that I want at a lower price point.

I wonder if putting stickers on the board to mark the 5 cites for each animal would help with your issues related to set-up for the expansion.

Hey Nick, thanks for the review. Kinda wish I had watched this before buying it :P I have to say, I think you should at least TRY "In The Lab" if you haven't already. I recently reverted back to normal rules to teach a non-gamer how to play, and for me personally "It was painful". I will say that, the first play or two may come across as "clunky", just because there are many more steps to finding the cure. But the game becomes FAR MORE cooperative, and the theme practically jumps off the table. Happy gaming! Cheers

Good review. Hopefully On the Brink goes back in print soon so I can play the good expansions ;_; Btw - in the newer editions of pandemic (base game), the pawns are plastic

In The Lab is one of the best expansions for a Boardgame ever, seriously you need to move on and try it.

Thats horrible...$30 for the expansion!! Oh wait, its $60+ here in Australia not including shipping lol. Good review though and we love Pandemic more the any other game so we are getting it just because. I do agree though that we will probably only play the hinterlands once then never again but will wait and see lol.

I have the same opinion ---on the brink is good, but some games just have too many expansions...

Love the game in general but the art is just so bad. It could be made so much nicer! :)
