For the price I would have liked to see an included back protector. This is firmly targeting the Knox Honister which only loses points in comparable breathability

The AAA rating is very impressive. How much of the back does the back protector cover, or should I say in comparison to Knox Urbane Pro.

It’s unfortunate that it doesn’t come with Pando’s Quatroflex back protector despite the high price. The same goes for the other Pando Shell UH base layers. I am considering the Revit Nucleus protector jacket. It is way cheaper and includes protectors for the arms, shoulders, back, and chest. Most of them are CE-2 (the chest is CE-1) and overall AA rated. It’s also relatively lightweight, making it suitable for use underneath other clothing.

I`ve tried them right next to each other and must say, the Panda Moto is better. The Nucleus is way heavier and overall bulkier. It feels more like a jacket and is kind of restraining.I like the style of the Revit more and the extra protectors are a big plus, but I give the point to Pando Moto, because it feels lightweight and actually seems like a underlayer

@@yoyo3028 Yeah, I went with the Pando one now plus its back protector. I love their pants; they're super comfy and it's incredible that they're AAA rated. The higher price and fewer included protectors are a drawback, but I think it's worth it for the comfort. I have a full leather AAA-graded Revit setup, but will probably use the Pando baselayers most of the time to also be able to wear casual stuff over it.

I like Pando stuff but molle around your ribcage and abdomen seems not the smartest to actually attach things to on a bike in the event of an accident. Seems like a good way to focus impact trauma on the point where something hard is attached. Though there's probably a certain market for it for people who EDC flashlights and things or conceal carry a firearm in the States and wanna place all that kit outside the armour layer, I guess.

Molle Belts are cool can attach tactical pouches and bags, first aid kit etc

For the same price, Bowtex has their own true Dyneema fabric everywhere. Rated gold by bike social

I lowsided a bike wearing a kevlar base layer shirt over armor at about 30mph I can tell you that it held up surprisingly well. No rash, just a few bruises. But leather definitely is better for higher speed crashes, as long as it has strong stitching. There are many leather jackets that meet or exceed the AAA standard. If it's made properly, it will beat kevlar, cordura or uhmwpe stuff every time. But it's also hotter and heavier. It's up to you to decide which works for you.

No back protection? Ridiculous. You're better off with Knox where you get a back protector and arguably better armour.

Looking at Knox they have only A rating protection in the same category for women, yes it's cheaper with back protector included but with much lower safety rating. You can buy the CE level 2 back protector for additional 40 quid...if Bowtex had a unisex option on elite, I'd choose that but they don't...and they don't include the back protector neither for the same price 😀
