Thanks for doing an in-depth review of this board! Definitely going to check out the 15k follow up.

Man. Thanks so much for posting this. Awesome vid as always. I've been waiting for something like this. I have the PB 2 and 3 but both are 31khz and while the horizontal is cool, I have some Tate cabs that need a tate PB Box. I currently have PS1, PS2 and DC in one of the cabs for tate games, but this has all the games that those consoles are missing. I'll be ordering this in the 15khz version. But if Pandoras Box is reading this, 15khz is much more important that 31khz.

+Modern Vintage Gamer Can't wait to hear the updated review for the CGA box. Also, thanks for the review on the Pandora Box 4. Do you know if the Pandora Box 3 has the screen filtering that is a part of PB4? That said, the fact they offer VGA is a bit of future-proofing as CRT's are basically dead and finding a replacement is nearing impossible lately.

Thanks for the review. Looks like an interesting board. I just bought a bartop with vertical 412 in 1 from Game Elf. It includes Aerofighters, 1941, DonPachi (and DoDonPachi), Dimahoo, Guwange, Battle Bakraid, Dangun Feveron, ESP Ra.De and Raiden. Raiden runs badly, the others run fine.

Great video man, I think what you said at the end is perfect! If they can remove the linear filtering, get rid of annoying screen tearing and sync issues, this thing would be awesome. You've hit the nail on the head again with this review man, and I hope they actually watch it and listen to what the people want here. I totally agree about having the 15kHz option for cabs and superguns on low res crt displays, but I'd actually like to have a 31 kHz VGA option too, if it works well that is. For example, I'd love to hear if you could test it for instance using a supergun control box and have the VGA out of the 51-in-1 hooked to a tated 31 kHz PC CRT with an SLG mini in the middle, If the 51-in-1 works well with an external VGA scanline generator, I think that the VGA output on these boxes could be really nice. Then again, if it was just straight 15kHz, I'd find a way to line double with one of my XRGB units anyway with a 31kHz PC CRT, haha, so a case of either or I suppose, but in a way, it would be cool if the 31kHz vga out on the box could work just as well as an xrgb, provided the 51-in-1 works well with a mini SLG, which could totally eliminate the need for an XRGB for people who don't have one, but still want to play on tated 31kHZ PC CRT. I'm rambling, but I know you get what I mean, haha. Do you have any external SLG devices to test such a set up? If they can fix the bugs with screen tearing and removing filtering, I might have to get one of these to try it out with one of my superguns, and I like to test it out 3 different ways: (1) straight 15 kHz RGB on my PVM, (2)15 kHz to 31 kHz line doubled with an XRGB 2 plus on a PC CRT, and (3) just straight 31 kHz output fro the 51-in-1 to a PC CRT with an external SLG. Great vid as always, Jim!

Excellent video buddy. I can still see some screen tearing with the scrolling. It's pretty apparent during Raiden. Though I imagine this board outputs a steady 60hz refresh rate? I know many of the these original PCBs run at anything but 60Hz. I wonder if the 15Khz board will also be locked at 60Hz? And I agree 100% with you regarding the 31Khz output. No one cares about it. Dump it and concentrate on a better 15Khz output. Ohhh and make those god awful filters disable-able. Glad to see they are listening to owners though and improving things. Look forward to seeing you video for the replacement unit.

Is the board a special JAMMA-vertical version or can it be switched from CRT-vertical to CRT-horizontal and vice versa.

Looks like the seller needs new "roberts" to test the boards. Will await your verdict on the 15K.

Thanks for this review. I just heard about this board recently. I have been looking for a vertical shooter board to put in my jamma cab. So, they sell a 15khz version? Where can I find it?

I think it is best to keep the 31khz VGA, I think a large portion possibly a majority prefer this as arcade crts are becoming more and more difficult to find. I think having both options is the best but either way the filtering needs to go.

+DJ Fob Fresh No they don't. They load on the VGA only cart. On the CGA & VGA cart in VGA mode the credit is taken but game won't load, the same as in CGA mode.
