We needed this! Liverpool showed that the game against Forrest was a result of momentum being stonewalled by an international break, and the dangers of sticking to a rigid system. Slot didn't change much of how Liverpool played against Forrest, but we have to figure out a solution to playing teams who'll play like Forrest

Jota far better as an impact sub coming on for 20-30 minutes than a starter. Conversely Darwin's already frantic nature is just made worse by only getting a short period in which to perform.

Szobo was poor again first half losing the ball and missing passes, but much better second half. Hopefully he can maintain that performance level.

His passing accuracy has been great the first 3 games this season, so he definitely has it in him to be consistent. His passing dropped massively against Forest and was sloppy again in the first half this match. But once play restarted after Maignan's substitution, he really pulled himself together all around. Superb passes, dribbling, a goal, he has shown his quality. That guy just needs confidence, and I think it will do him wonders that Arne trusts him with the nr 10 position. He will deliver this season, I believe in him.

The first 10mins is a reflection of Forest defeat, however, our performance against Milan shows the dominance to be displayed in the next couple of matches.

Happy belated birthday Arne! 🥳🎉 Great work overall from his team awarded with 3 points (and first of hopefully many great nights and victories in the Champions League) which, as the boss said is the perfect present from the team (beside the cake that they apparantly have made him 🎂) Back to winning ways and much improved preformance, a bit of uncertainty by our attackers (Jota, Mo hit the the crossbar so need to concentrate and be more decisive in the final third) to finish the chances infront of them (at least from open play) Ibou and big Virg are menace in the air and could always cought the opponent in the box and hit a strong header! Maignan had a brilliant game up until he had his injury, but the young goalkeeper of Milan was also soild for the most part! Milan was too open and trying to press Liverpool high up the field was devastating for them, thus giving us all the time and space in behind to hit on a transition! Our press was very well organised and winning most of the duels made the game really uncomfortable for Milan! Rafa Leao, though ⚡🏃‍➡️⚽ Elite dribbler and that move turning two Liverpool defenders and striking at goal (What a save form Alli 🧤⚽🥅) at the last minute! Gravenberch, absolutly reborn in this new Liverpool team, looks so brave, sharp with his descision making on the ball, good vision, but his impact off the ball (tenacity, aggression, getting involved, put on tackles and interceptions) Just exceptional Grav 👊 Today however, was the day of Cody Gakpo! Speed, pace, dribble, awarness, picking the right moments when to pass (the assist for Szobo, important for him by the way and his confidence) cut on his right foot, coming from the right hand side! My Man of the match for sure, appart from VVD and proved he would be valuable part of this squad! ✅ First minutes for Fede Chiesa as Liverpool player!
