No, in first case he is worried- if tears are there in the eyes, how can sleep be accommodated. No place. In second song, it is other way round- sleep is already there in the eyes. So Gulzar is requesting water to get into eyes so that sleep can vacate. @@pravinlatke9212

I was lucky enough to witness this performance live. Was looking forward to attending this particular Vasantotsav because of Prithvi Gandharv & Pratibha Singh Baghel. But Vishal ji Bharadwaj absolutely stole the show!!! It came as a surprise to me because I had never seen him perform live before and this particular segment has been etched in my heart forever and I will lifelong cherish this memory!
