"It's not home" is a perfect way to summarize this game. Saying that I'm sad is not enough, I'm heartbroken. At least as long as we have the previous games and other DA media, the world that we love so much is not really gone

@annabelleashdown6762 thank you so much for noticing that. I feel heartbroken as well. Even if Inquisition took some of Origins spirit away, I still felt it was good enough. But Veilguard broke my heart... Bioware of old is gone...

RIP Dragon Age. It was the first game that ever made me feel something while I went through the story and made choices, really made me think about the consequences. Before DAO, I had no idea games could have such amazing and complex stories and characters. It was the game that inspired me to go into writing and kickstarted my love for RPGs.

its bad fan fiction at best. it basically shits on a culmination of 15 years of expectations and all the past games at once. it blatantly despoils every element of the past that made it great on purpose. none of the choices from the past matters, most of the things that happened didnt matter. thats the message.

i wouldnt mind veilguard if it was a standalone linear action game... but why push it into the dragon age universe? it feels like certain characters and storylines were made then jammed together to somehow make sense in the world of dragon age. a linear action game in the world of dragon age would be accepted as well, but the characters dont talk like theyre even from the same planet as past characters...

If they said Veil guard was a mobile game, a standalone until the next game? i would have happily overlooked the artstyle. The pixary/fortnite kiddy vibe, because it would have been a treat until the real thing came along. Anyway I havent touched the game. Ive seen enough from heartbroken fans and ive been disappointed too many times 'after' the beautiful and stunning Trespasser DLC to listen or hope myself silly regarding bioware promises and im glad i did. I dont care for the 'itsh goneeee wokeee' whingers either... its just not the DA we waited 10 years for. I watched Solas ending with lavellan (being an ole solavellan myself) and nothing of that Solas felt familiar. It was an empty shell of a character, so too were the others I saw.

@ravoress Yes, that makes me really disappointed for the future, including Mass Effect. I also don't mind inclusive topics, but please than include it into the world. its not like Dragon Age Origins was discussing some dark topics, such as race as well.

@@itsneryun dragon age origins was rife with racism between elves and humans. also slavery, rape, trafficking, murder, fanatical religious zealotry. if anything, veilguard is too sanitized for not mentioning any of this. just think about all the terrible things that happen in the city elf origin compared to the entirety of veilguard... that origin alone is more edgy/dark than anything in veilguard lol.

I wore out TWO discs of DA:O, played DA II many times as with DA:I, I even bought the RPG! But, this DA:V is just NOT Dragon Age. It's an ABOMINATION and I will NOT buy the CRAP they are trying to pawn off on us, who have been LOYAL to them, but THEY weren't loyal to US.

I felt it too, and I only played DAi. But the lore is incredible. The history, mystery, religion, and politics just captures you and makes you wonder. For 10y, we gasped for every detail slowly to unfold its mysteries. And now it's unfolded it feels empty, incomplete and shallow. 😢

Thanks for your reflections and the video. The problem is, aware we may be or not, the entire world has changed since origins. Woke new world order policies have infected every layer of society, the gaming industry included. There's no more enough spirit and courage in the developers and writers to reach such heights. Appreciations.

Maybe they would think alittle before they go broke..... the people and the story and the toon and their stories is what we wanted and have come to love......not the drama....not woke politics.....but who am I kidding it is 2024.....they have no one to blame but themselves.......marketing wise any everyday person could have told them the outcome would be......they tried to make 1% of the population happy to only fail for the other 90% who do play/buy their games.....

Game was terrible, gameplay was trash,combat was just copy pasted from Mass Effect Andromeda, dialogue was cringe and boring, characters were the worst in the entire series. Choices don't matter and it completely negated the other 3 games. Even by "modern" standards this game was bad.
