Depending on your choices it says "Demon of Defiance" when you hover over his Veilguard skill once it's unlocked. So Spite definitely changes for the better over the course of the game. Defiance is still ambiguous, but it's something that can be good or bad depending on circumstances.

Solas is right about one thing, Rook created an amazing team. Despite his manipulations, despite his blood magic, despite his betrayal, despite all his murders, sins and crimes; Rook’ team will always have her back. They all gave hm nothing but the smoke and I live for it. After all the pain he put The Inquisitor and Rook through, it’s about time someone finally told him his pain doesn’t amount to all the others he has caused.

And he doesn't deserve anything more than what he's got. I love him as a character, so well thought out and executed to perfection, but as a person? He deserves more than a few broken bones! He locked himself in his own grief and pride, to the point he killed friends who trusted him followed him for centuries like Felassan because they refused to go along with his madness and manipulated and betrayed people like the Inquisitor and Rook, who had to risk their lives to fix the mess HE made because he did not want to search for another way. He even killed the one he loved first! He destroyed a world once already, he saw what horrors that brought, and yet he was ready to do it again to bring back a time and a kingdom that simply are not meant to be. And also, they fact that the sufferings of the Hero of Ferelden, of Hawke, of the Inquisitor, of Rook and all of their friends and possibly many of their deaths were a conseguence of his love-sick short-sightedness makes it all worse. Although, on this, Mythal deserves to be blamed as much and even more than him.

I've only done the one run of veilguard yet but I had Emmerich save manfred so the Solas interaction is different that's so interesting! Like I figured it might be but still neat to see it! In the non-lich interaction it's alot more respectful to meet each other on both sides because Emmerich saved a spirit and stuff tho there is still a little bit of sass. The lich vs spirit straight up sass between the two of them here tho is hilarious.

What really baffles me in Veilguard, is that .. Flemeth gave herself very willingly to die. Like it was a cutscene. I can understand Morrigan failing to understand that and imagining that Flemeth was unwilling. Or Bellara might believe Morrigan, which is foolish thing to do, but Bellara is naive. How come Solas didn't explained that Flemeth gave her power willingly though. He never corrects Elgar'nan nor Bellara. I assume he doesn't bother with Morrigan since she is unwilling to listen in Inquisition for anything. Him and Flemeth had an agreement. Even in DA II she speaks how she has 'meeting' and 'destiny awaits us both dear girl/boy'. She was clearly talking about Solas, orb was an accident, but Flemeth knew soon was going to be end for her either way. That's why Flemeth was trying to secure Old God's soul future before 'meeting'.

I'd say Flemeth had her reservations but couldn't really refure Solas.

I'm furious. Bellara "She (Mythal) didn't want you to destroy the world to avenge her." Did anyone at Bioware even watch the cutscenes?? nothing about that cutscene reads as "oh no pls don't do this!" Solas says he should pay the price but the people need him, he says how sorry he is and Mythal's response isn't "Oh it's ok you don't have to avenge me :)" it's "I'm sorry too, old friend." I think if ANYTHING you could argue that Mythal was going to make a play for Solas' soul but he beat her to it. And to what end? Flemeth made it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR what Mythal wanted in Inquisition. "She was betrayed as I was betrayed, as the world was betrayed. Mythal clawed and crawled her way through the ages to me - and I will see her avenged!" But yeah no, Mythal was totes chill about it by this point, NBD.

What? Mythal clearly said to Solas “The elven people of today do not deserve to see the world they love to be torn apart to salvage your conscience” She said sorry because she can’t help Solas with the Veil plan. So Solas ended her.

As for Veilguard Mythal, maybe being in Morrigan tempered her. Morrigan was far better mother to Kieran then Flemeth to her, apparentely. And Morrigan could have had lover. Mythal was craving vengeance in Flemeth in Inquisition. And we see fragment of Mythal not being molded by mortals being all pissed off and wanting nothing but vengeance in Crossroads.

Love Bellara at the end, we can all agree to love her there, for that one, that's like, "ooh, you go girl!" Way to tell it to him, Bel, she has got a good point there, as an Elf and as a woman herself, about Mythal at least. What can Solas say to justify himself there, loving her and then killing her, fragment or not? How does someone forgive that in him or anyone at all, really?
