I am interested in playing bass guitar but I know basically nothing about it. I know you need things like an amp and a tuner but that’s kind of all I know, I don’t even really know what an amp does. I’d also like to know if it’s better to learn to read music or learn how to play by ear. Could you (or anyone) give me any tips or video recommendations to learn more? Also I really like your videos!!

It's awesome that you're interested in learning how to play bass. It's good to play with an amp, but you can also connect your bass on your computer (you'll need an audio interface tho) or use an amplug and headphones. About learning, I suggest you follow some tabs and play along with your favorite songs. As long as you start to play more often, you'll be familiarised with the notes. Then you can start to learn the songs on your own by ear. I hope I was understandable lmao, sorry for any grammar mistakes. Cheers
