Doku signing is about A) adding a 1v1 threat as teams increasingly man-mark City in build-up and B) adding pace and threat down right wing to support Foden inside. One thing that has made this KDB, Haaland, Stones version of City so good is the lack of movement and rotation they need to support breaking down defenses because of KDB+Haaland being so lethal both in space and esp with being one of the all-time great static chance creators against settled defenses. Its a key reason they were able to setup the back 5 so solidly and forego attacking contributions from full-backs, which of course has defensive risk. But with KDB out, it wont be as easy as just letting him cross it in, and they obv dont have the F9 option now either, so Doku would not only give them another weapon on the break and against man-marking, but brings back that quick outside threat from the Sane-Sterling days to hopefully combine with Kova and Foden the way we saw Sane do so often with David Silva. Likely has defensive tradeoffs if that means Doku replacing Walker or another defensive player, but of course you just dont get better losing a player as good as De Bruyne.

Zoniolo went to Galatasary because he had to move from Rom and European transfer window had closed. Galatasary took him knowing they could keep him for 6 mo get some good games then flip him. He didn't barley play for them at all. I think Zoniolo take was pretty bad one in this video, pretty surface level analysis. It's a risk but it's a really well structured deal.

the entire aston villa segment is so bad, talking about zaniolo as if he's incapable of playing more than 300 minutes when he played 1500 mins last season which was mostly nothing to do with injury and 2700 mins in 21-22 at roma and bearing in mind that zaniolo 1, is not replacing buendia and 2, is not being bought as a guaranteed starter, he will be rotated with players like mcginn. also on his injury record in his worst season at roma for injuries (21-22) apart from the season with the acl injuries, he missed a grand total of... 63 days, last season he missed 32 days through injury, how can you talk about that as if he is a massive risk especially considering the fee is not big, the wages are not big and its a loan with no obligation unless he plays over 30 games, its just lazy, this isnt someone who is getting constant reoccurring injuries like neymar with his ankles, even his 2 acl injuries were in different knees, this is someone who got two back to back acl injuries which is unbelievably unlucky, comparing that to neymar when neymar has never had an acl injury let alone two is just plain stupid then going on and talking about acuna as if it's an awful signing basically because he isnt young enough for you when he is replacing 30 year old 2nd choice LB lucas digne who is going to be sold for far more than we will buy acuna for and is on more wages than we will pay acuna, if we get him we are getting someone who suits the style of play better than digne, is around the same level as digne, for a net profit which will allow us to sign someone to help replace buendia because, again, zaniolo is not replacing buendia, who replaces a right footed left midfielder with a left footed right midfielder/second striker? they are not reactionary moves in any way, and we do not have unlimited money to spend, we can't just spend 30-40m on a young player to replace digne like chelsea or man utd could and finding a young player good enough for less than that is not realistic at all
