Here in North Alabama I was paying $3.00 a foot on a 20ft runabout. But I got a discount on the boat Ins. as it was not being towed, plus the gas i saved,and time it was well worth it. Best part was just pulling up to the dock stepping off and go home. Tip, leave some beer in the cooler and ask the guys to check it before they put the boat away.

I’m a Cub leader and take pride in teaching them to drive a boat, sadly we’re not meeting at the moment. So yesterday, I took the boat for a run and on returning to the pontoon, I completed a manoeuvre for the first time. The thing is, nobody was there to see me boss it. First time I came along side about 4m from the pontoon and just using the F - N - R gears, drifted sideways onto the the pontoon. No bow thrusters at all, just a single outboard. Perfect, so proud of myself. :D

On the west coast if you tie up in the ramp the fight is on! The trucks and trailers are in line. Is this mess typical for Florida?
@keithscudder71362 жыл бұрын
At Black Point it is, mainly due to the fact they have a parking lot only 40 trucks can Park. The people trying to get in, in the morning are in a line over 2 miles long. :(

@DaebakMonkey4 жыл бұрын
There were docks here in the PNW yesterday that had lines for the ramps a mile long at 5 ramp launches. Only one accident that I heard about in the sound which was a guy who more than likely forgot to vent his tank compartment. No other chit shows other than that. Required and enforced boater-ed pays off.
