Used to be a lifeguard. Number 1 rule is to stay calm. They did that, knew backup was on its way, focused on protecting the swimmers from the boaters, and allowed the current to push them in. A+ rescue!

It always makes me smile when your caption states 'what's your opinion?' Usually when some form of gross negligence has just occurred... It's very reserved and diplomatic of you, particularly when some of the negligence that we see could be the difference between life or death..! I hope that some of these 'captains' watch your channel, and learn from their mistakes.

Because that guy just hauled those children over as if they were those big 10kg potato bags 🤷🏻‍♂️

Little girl on the bow, little brain at the helm. This is definitely against the law, and will be a hefty fine if he’s boarded by any Maritime Law Enforcement. Regardless of common sense, the law is anyone 6 or under on a vessel, 26' or less, must wear a pfd. There must be a pfd for each person on board any vessel, and a throwable pfd for vessels 16' and longer. The PWC' require pfd for piolet and any riders. Your talking about how much trouble they would be in or how much the fines are just shows you don't know the law.

So many things wrong there, but speed in the inlet for starters, drop it to 10 or 15 mph max (that will save some lives). Kids not wearing PFD's (and properly fitted ones). It is not a place for paddle-boarders or kayaks or tubing, etc. as there seems to be NO speed limit in the inlet. Wouldn't feel safe in a barge there. What is the body count so far for haul-over for this year?

For the PWC towing the kids. Law is you can only tow for how ever many people the ski holds. If it has two seats, you can’t tow anything. If you have 3 seats you can only tow one person. You must have an observer, the operator, and a way to retrieve the person being towed. So you must keep a seat free for the person being towed. You can not have both seats full on a ski and still tow two or three people. Doesn’t work that way. So I hope they got citations for endangering the kids.

It's nice to see a successful rescue. Well done, all! Why does it take a potential disaster for people to stop being narcissists and just pitch in? I know it's the rescuers job but in the 60s and 70s, a few boaters would have fished those people out long before the rescue teams could arrive.
@gregdeguerre8804
@gregdeguerre8804 Жыл бұрын
I’m commenting on the seadoo towing the ski tube. Where I’m from it’s the LAW that the tow vessel have a SPOTTER and a seat for the “water skier” to board the vessel if they become tired. That seadoo was full at 2 adults and a child, plus 3 children on the ski tube. It would be a fine to the captain for what they were doing. And yes, that inlet looks WAY too fuckin busy to be screwing around tubing. Go to a lake somewhere.

Rescue of the kayakers was awesome. It was safer and easier to take them out sooner instead of trying to keep pushing inland more as the more boats come in the more of a hazard they are. But by law kayakers and people in canoes are required to wear PFDs. So I hope they at least got some citations for wasting all their time.

Thank the lifeguards does a great job in the rescue. I don’t understand why they don’t have some type of ladder or floating platform around that side rather than bring victims up over those rocks. As for the couple on the JetSki pulling the kids on the inflatable, that’s just too many kids for two people to be responsible for especially in the inlet where there’s so much traffic.

We only have one lake big enough to accommodate these type of boats and there are very few of them. The money spent amazes me. As for the little girl, it should be illegal for any minor to not wear a life jacket in these waters. So I live on other coast of FL, I’m amazed that a no wake is not observed. Am I just not seeing proper angles?

As I understand it, the no-wake zone starts after they go under the bridge at the inner end of the inlet.
