10:21 stop fighting and you'll stop being scared, not the other way round. You can be scared and safe. 13:08 we get scared FOR something to jolt us into doing mode. We need to stop doing in order to tell our body we're safe. 14:22 real vs perceived danger, behaviour is what breaks the link between real and perceived danger, by acting as if there's no danger 15:52 perception is THE STORY you're telling - "something terrible will happen" etc 18:09 don't use accept and allow as a weapon. Don't keep checking in and noticing. Because noticing means it's still danger that you need to keep an eye on. Treat the anxiety as unimportant. 21:30 health anxiety... Not really different to other phobias or fears. What is keeping the health anxiety alive? What have you been feeding it? The approach to treat is the same. Make a contract with yourself - change your behaviour (safety or avoidance) - checking, googling, repeated doctors appointment. Make a promise to delay all behaviours for 3 days. 25:10 health anxiety is very intense due to the high stakes it presents to the sufferer 25:45 does staring and obsessing keep you more healthy or alive....? 26:09 HA is a sensation hooked to worst case scenario... We're fighting imagination of health problems. Remember... Anxiety is NOW fear for NOW danger. Check the story and facts. 28:53 the whoosh makes it feel so important and urgent 29:15 your brain is so creative and imaginative. Pay attention to the stories you're telling yourself and how you're resisting something that ISN'T HAPPENING. 29:37 anxiety is energy with no place to go. Like pressing the gas pedal on a stationary car! 30:58 accept you'll die one day. You won't be healthy forever. Let go of the sticky grip on perfect health. We can only do so much to look after our health. 34:22 asking for more, and then more comes?! What is your intention when asking for more? Do you really want more or just a little bit? You're still afraid of the sensations. You need to embrace the discomfort. 57:48 put fear in the same category as other emotions. Happiness, sadness etc. You can do stuff WHILE feeling those things. So why not for fear?

Can I just say how much I appreciate how uncensored you are with your words? Not that I'm a potty mouth or anything but people like us that suffer from anxiety attacks do use Profanity internally and it helps when you use it. It's therapeutic in a way. 😊

This made me think of the song "Heart of Life", and the line at the end where they say: "Fear is a friend who's misunderstood".

another great video 😊 do you guys have advice for rather than 'classic' health anxiety, there being a present symptom such as visual disturbances or pain that has been checked out and doesn't have a rational explanation, so dealing with the discomfort as well as the uncertainty about what it actually is? its like a double anxiety producing situation :( I guess using dare for this is the only way but its very hard

I recognize I’m anxious and get the anxious feelings of discomfort that I recognize so quickly. Sometimes those discomfort feelings get worse and worse. Sometimes they rise to the point of an attack. My question is how to handle when I first feel the anxiety. I have two options. Try to ignore it like nothing is happening. But if I’m unsuccessful then I worry that it will spiral. Or…. Do I start doing something like breathing or taking a walk or talking to someone to help or even look for a video like this one to help dissipate it?

What about seeing a traumatic event, and fearing everything including watching tv. I feel I can’t be alone anywhere. I have a partner I sleep with and I can’t even turn my back away from them. I was diagnosed with PTSD and you have no information pertaining to that. Is that different from panic and anxiety which I have bad right now, my trauma I seen was in February and I can’t seem to enjoy anything. I do have medical issues as I had a bowel rupture 12 years ago and I need assistance with eating and maintaining, like certain meds to evacuate, but our medical system here is slow. I need some information on PTSD as I do not want to google everything. I noticed people have taken medication, but I can’t due to constipation , I’m 60 years old and want to get to learn to live with this disorder, can you help. I feel like giving up at time.

Wtf? My husband is actually leaving tomorrow for a week long business trip. I'm dead serious. And also dead scared that something will happen to him.
