You are only seeing information from one side. When that happens it's called "propaganda". For proper balance and truth, you need to see evidence from all sides involved. They don't ride inside they sit on top in case they hit a mine. The driver, gunner and anyone else inside are most likely dead.

Probably an externally fired directional mine remotely controlled. It likely blew the tracks off the right side of the tank from 5 to 25 yards away. Most, if not all, of the crew and soldiers riding on the vehicle were severely shaken up and possibly injured but not killed. Most of them seemed to have abandoned their personal weapons. The following vehicle was right to pull back, if slightly tardy, since this could have been a prepared ambush with multiple mines. They'd need to send infantry forward to scout and clear the advance. I suspect Ukrainians had artillery zeroed on the site and possibly inbound as we watched. I would have.
