​@@intelligencequipo5095you have no knowledge. Mughals were only puppets by then, Marathas controlled everything. It was a treaty of Marathas with Delhi throne to protect Delhi in return for Chauth tax & control over more Subahs.

It's so depressing to see the whole battle sequence. If the mass desertion of soldiers wouldn't have happened, then the eventual defeat could have been delayed a bit further. Wish instead of along with swords, our troops would have entered the battlefield with equal number of guns. Apart from Gardi contingent, even the Huzurat should have been equipped with Guns and small fire arms, in that way their attack would have been even more harder. Surprised to see the Maratha foot soldiers didn't have full-bodied chain mail armours to protect them against Afghan musketeers. For this battle alone, they should have gone with heavy cavalries. None the less, a huge salute to those who stood firm against such adversities and fought till the end. Bhau was no doubt a great soldier, but got carried away with his emotions after Viswas Rao's death. Instead of thinking about killing Abdali, focusing on neutralising his generals and nobles on the battlefield field would have brought the great Afghan emperor on his knees.

Marathas lost not because Bhau was a bad general. They lost the battle because their Opposition has better general. A little bit of more coordination would have helped the Marathas to conquer this final frontier.

Love you work Team Historiography. We fought Courageously, if we have not been short of supply and reinforcement we would have crushed them brutally. But In war their is no place for 'IF' and 'BUT'. The biggest blunder was the huge amount of non combatant the maratha army taken. It still haunts me why did Sadashivrao Bhau didn't oppose strongly the vast number of pilgrimage to panipat. Why didn't he placed the unnecessary non combatant beneath the chambal river nearby gwalior fort ?

Brilliant video, please tell me what would have happened if Raghoba would have been sent to north to fight Abdalli with the amount of soldiers and money he asked for, I know that Sadshiv Rao was the best choice to lead the campaign as he was the most capable general to fight at that time,but it is said the Raghoba had the experience of fighting in the north.

Yeah, and Sadashiv Rao Bhau had more experience in the South and he used some European tactics which had worked well in the south, but wouldn't work that well in the North. Seriously Raghunathrao or Malhharrao Holkar should have been sent instead of Sadashiv Rao Bhau.

Panipat was definitely Malharrao's shame. His actions right from sparing Najib's life, to delaying his stay in Rajputana before Dattaji's death seem suspect. His insistence that Bhau should not cross Narmada and wait for Abdali to return. And decision to not participate in the main battle and flee, resulting in encirclement of Huzurat.

i think everything happens for a reason..his desertion was definately a result of misscommuniaction..aswell as his age at which he was fighting.. he was from starting a guerilla fighter and his everything technique imcluded wait,attack and flee..which became his decision making ability

Inaccuracy of battlefield development here! Gardi forces were neutralized due to Vitthal Shivdev and Damaji Gaikwad's mindless cavalry charge towards Afghan gunners. This blocked the line of fire of Gardi's men and in turn led to depletion of the only sort of reserve troops that Maratha had at their disposal once the battle would've fatigued the first line of combatants. Though Gardi's men were also receiving some losses in that gunbattle, but they were still depleting the enemy at a great rate! 😢😢 Sad to think that Maratha cavalry did such a tactical blunder in the final showdown.

There was no reserve because maratha combatants were nearly half that of Afghans side.It was easier for abdali to keep reserve because their no. of combatants was higher .

Vithal Shivdev and Damaji Gaikwad could have been used as part of the Maratha reserves. However, they came before the Gardi Musketeers to fight. The result : 1. Gardi had to stop firing from his cannons and guns. 2. It gave time to the Afghans to regroup and attack the Maratha right, thus nullifying the good work done by the Gardis, earlier

Was Malharrao Holkar requested by Bhau to save the non-combatants specially ladies that's why he never fought during panipat or he deserted to avoid any fighting with Najib Khan ?

It was truly a great battle that actually changed the course of Indian history from mid 18th century. Afghan army was relatively superior to the Maratha army in quantity and quality. Afghans had fresh reserve troops, Heavy Cavalries, and very Special Zamburak (fired from camels top). The generalship of Shah Abdhali was ahead then Sadashivrao Bhau. As Abdhali was battle experienced in different regions across Persia, Central Asia, and India that enriched his military knowledge. Maratha really fought hard. If their soldiers would have not deserted perhaps......... But Bhau could send some troops to disarray Afghans from their back following the tactics from the Battle of Udgir.

The result of Third battle of Panipat is because of lack of Diplomatic, over Confidence, Non Combatting people in large Number, and Finally No better Structure of Administration Compare to British Administration in India After defeating Maratha Empire and less Experienced Commander like Sadashiv Rao and Vishwas Rao Because these Commander are from Pune i. e.. South They doesn't have experienced from the North India.
