love the enthusiasm!! when just the low end was playing (3:20) and you added the harmonics part in, I was reminded of color bass and how in that genre adding resonators / harmonics to everything is part of that sound.

this really sounds great. Far better than I expected. There are obviously a million ways to do this nowadays, but your version gives some nice control over the cutoff point, envelope, and saturation color.

Split EQ is nice for tasks like this.
@music-qd3gb2 жыл бұрын
It is. but Split EQ will be activated on whole time containig all of transient in low energy (bass or unexpected etc). So if you want to only emphasize the kick boom or process with kick's low end when mastering, it can be better to do this external chaining.

Just had someone put split EQ on my lap last week, I'll be taking a look into it over the coming weeks !

You can do it with an envelope generator on Saturn 2 on the low end

create two aux channels from your mixbuss(aux) , put your fabfilter pro MB and gain plugin{to flip phase, after fixing your plugin settings, create a 3rd aux and send the outputs of the first two auxes to that aux and send that aux to your master fader, blend in your 3rd aux as necessary

Split eq as others mentioned although it does not add harmonics. I love split eq. But why not using wavesfactory spectre or Saturn 2?

You can use two EQs, one increases the desired frequency range (at the bottom, for example), the other lowers by the same value, and between them a saturator (any kind can be used, I believe, an infinite field for experiments). As a result, the saturator focuses on the frequency boost, giving more harmonics from it, but the boost itself is compensated by a second equalizer, so you can shift the focus to the desired part of the spectrum. Don't thank me :)

you didn't have to do all that there are plugins like red rock bass enhancer and bx_subsynth that does the job.

No, those would not isolate just the kick the way he does here, they would as harmonics/octave to everything around it, which is precisely what he’s avoiding.
