Jenny your hubby is a keeper!! He is a lot like mine… you can see it in his face that he loves you so much. He has his own job but will not let you work so hard, always helping the wife. I just enjoy watching your videos. I wish they were daily but I understand your busy with your business. The flower bed came out beautiful. I was glad you changed it around. Thank you

Oh, I felt like crying when I saw the caladium bulbs being discarded. I faithfully save mine and dry them to store for the next year. They were lovely. New planting looks great. I've never used Artemisia, I'll try looking for it in Arkansas.

We totally understand the need for new life in Garden in Season. I love my Garden to look the season as well. We have a very small greenhouse on our farm and grow a few plants to sell and also get some from our local grower. Plants just get tired looking after a certain time of year, especially annuals. Everything looks beautiful!

You almost killed me tearing out those beautiful caladiums. I'm in 5b, outside Chicago, so mine won't last as long. I have to enjoy them as long as possible. I had to laugh though. I do the very same thing when putting out plants. I set them out and stare at them for a bit to decide whether or not I like the layout. Inevitably I do change things around and stare at them some more before finally planting. 😄

I have the opposite type of soil as you (sandy), but I do love nicely amended soil. That'll be fun to work in in the coming years. I think I heard we'll get down to mid 40s tonight here in Minneapolis. Cold weather be damned! I planted some things today. I also picked up some decorative small pumpkins for my steps. (I know the squirrels will get to them.) 🐿️ Behind my three nepeta I planted a couple Celosia that look like graduated pink to fuchsia rockets. In front, I planted five of those tiny kale that grow on a tall stem. Nearby is a row of bubble gum petunias. It's so cute! Say, I have to share a funny story. A few weeks ago I had a mature maple tree removed. It made me nervous that the tree (planted long before I moved here 30 years ago) had two leaders. Last summer, we had a tornado (rated zero! Who ever heard of a category zero?) so I wanted it gone. It was close to the power lines. I asked the guys to cut me a couple sittin' on stumps. They left me the "crotch" of the tree. I flipped it over so it's one big seat for my fat fanny. Everytime I look at it now I laugh because it looks like someone is standing in the dirt.

Great job Jennie! It’s amazing seeing that flower bed along the new stone path filling in. I think it needs some vertical focal points like maybe 3 junipers or arborvitaes evenly spaced along the middle to create a tiered effect… I remember when you planted the green giants and the cedars along the back for privacy in case they ever developed the land behind you. It’s amazing to think anyone would ever take down that beautiful forest. Anyway, I’m just enjoying a day off with a hot cup of coffee while waking up so I can get out there and do some yard work myself. Thanks for the inspiration my friend!

I’m with those that were “upset” about the caladiums and pentas. As a nursery owner and grower, you would think you could over winter and resell those babies. Offer to give them away or donate to your local community. Loved the new planting

These plants are patented plants from Proven Winners and it is illegal for me to propagate or "sell" these plants 2x ( I say 2x because I used them once in my landscape & it would be unethical and illegal for me to resale them). These plants are called annuals for a reason.
