Using the names of people, places & things adds a sense of depth making a more meaningful connection between the reader & yourself. Also be mindful of the when & where regarding punctuation. Your sentence would read much better if it were two sentences instead. A period or exclamation mark, for emphasis, after “this” & before Phil is great point to separate the two sentences. A few words of to describe “this” at the end would help the reader understand the context behind your statement. What is Phil one of the greats at? “Wake up mate Alex can’t even speak English let alone sing a classic like Cemetery Gates! Phil is one of the greatest metal vocalists of all time, very few will ever match his range & style.” That’s a more engaging perspective that projects personal feeling of your opinion. The fact that you’re aware of your clean vocals and have the presence of mind to be concerned with the outcome tells me (and others) that you do care about your clean vocals, which is awesome. Once you have really found your groove for your cleans, you can integrate them into different songs even better than you already do. This is what makes you a great singer, and not just another good singer. Keep doing what you’re doing!

I got chills. So I name all my animals either after musicians or song names. My best friend bullet "with a name" iykyk, was laid to rest last fall with a belly full cancer and cemetery gates came on as we were pulling into the animal ER, it has since been heard to me as his going out song.
