Phil was the best frontman for that band and nobody especially sully who comes from a band that stole some of their sound could even compete and even sully would say that too himself. I'm a friggin big Godsmack fan and respect the shit outta Pantera...the thing is...both are awesome bands....both put helluva shows and there is actually no point in comparing them as their musical styles are very very different...One may consider Godsmack heavy metal but they're more grunge-hard rock oriented and Pantera's style is a lot heavier almost going towards thrash metal and hardcore punk style

And I love Godsmack! They are always a great live show! And,They are certainly metal. Of course if you listen to the radio they consider Nickleback metal too. Huh? I guess maybe some of their songs.
