Pantera was before my time. To any of you fucks who went to their shows consider yourselves privileged, because this shit looks as perfect as a metal show can get. Legendary band who has it down on lock, the crowd is eating the shit up, the stage looks amazing etc. A brief and rare moment in time when Metal bands were on the top and amazing things happened.

I'd say there were up there with late 80's Metallica but neither Pantera or Metallica could hold a candle to the beast that was Sepultura at the end of 96 just before Max left. I saw them twice in that final week, first at Manchester Apollo and later in London and the Manchester gig is still to this day the best show I've ever been too - even better than the Metallica show at the tiny Astoria II, just a few days before headlining Donington 95. But I miss Dime. Such a fun guy and while amazingly talented on guitar, he just let it rip and had fun with it.

I'm not going to lie, I'm fairly new to Pantera. I don't know too many of their songs, and I generally listen to a lot of punk rather than metal. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love metal and I always have since I was like 7. Anyways, I can't help but to tear up thinking of Dime's death. There aren't many musicians that show the same passion he did to his music, and there are absolutely no musicians that can even come close to replicating his skill. Rest in peace, Dime. We fucking love you, you legend.
