Yeah, even Rex stated in his book that Phil was a real badass. He fought 4 guys once and kicked their asses without any help. Of course, he's mellowed down a lot as he's in his 50s now, but Anselmo ain't no coward.

In case anyone is wondering, I saw Phil a couple months ago live in Australia (mid 2019). I was front row- shook hands with him and he looked and sounded 25 again. Apart from one quick puff from an inhaler and not too much jumping around, I would swear Phil was no different to the early 90s live. I was kind of expecting a lot of slurred speech & out of breath vocals but he was on point. To be fair they did do a lot of songs from the Far Beyond Driven era, but I promise you he's cleaned himself up, lost heaps of weight & sounds amazing. He even hung out on the side of the stage and watched all the opening bands. Awesome. RIP Dime & Vinnie

Michael Graham Dime and Vinnie wasn't with Pantera anymore when he was murdered. All of the boys loved their fans and their new band was just carrying on their tradition of letting folks stage dive. Every group member was into it. Nathan Hale was a looney that they just didn't see coming. I hope he's feeling the heat now for taking away the best guitarist of all time. There's only one person to blame here. But alas, I must say that I agree with u though. NONE OF THEM should've let people on the stage because of obsessed fans. Pantera isn't just one of those "fly by" bands. ALL OF THEM should be more careful but all surviving band members who still preform still aloud folks on stage. Although this comment is 2 years old, Im still gonna go ahead and say that's a pretty unfair, stereotypical, ignorant opinion to have.... Phil has massively cleaned his act, its almost like his regenerated, especially in the last 6/3 years. For someone that's experienced an amount of grief/pain and guilt so deep that without life threatening or life altering substances and other demon like outlets, one would simply drown in the sheer shock of overall fear and confusion...I think the kid's doing okay for himself .
