Yup all over words that were misplaced. We all new Phil loved boxing an mma. Therefore when they got to bickering Phil said He could whoppem you no one on one. An then words got taken out of place. He never wished real harm. An after 1990 through 2004. That's 14 year's plus side projects. An thry needed a break an rehab lol

dude's right, though. Philip's major back injury and resulting self-medication (aka heroin) slowly and single-handedly disintegrated Pantera and the music world unfortunately got to watch it in real time. without knowing anything about *why* he turned to such heavy drugs. the only thing that could have kept the disintegration from happening was if PHA had never injured his spine.

Metal bands were a different breed back then. So damn cool. So much presence, so much cool and charisma. You couldn’t help but pay attention. Compared with band interviews today. They may as well be a bunch of accountants. They have the collective personality of a piece of chalk.
I don't necessarily agree with that and you should probably look further into newer bands in the metal scene but I do like the fact that back then even the host could call out bands like Metallica for being sell outs and now today, we are so far into late stage capitalism that we are called elitists when we call out bands for treating music as a cloutchasing business *cough* bring me the horizon

you can see that phil has matured more nowadays then he was back then. back then he seemed to be very prideful, for no good reason, nowadays he seems like a very calm, collective man who has learned from his mistakes... very sad that it took darrell's death to make him realize it.

Why the fuck does everyone blame this guy for some psycho with PTSD on a shooting spree? I don't get this at all
@lucyfaire19809 жыл бұрын
MrBarelylethal So how does that make him remotely responsible for his death?
@wfc19879 жыл бұрын
I'm well aware of why people think he's responsible but I want someone to explain logically how that makes any possible sense.
@OcarinaofKillingTime9 жыл бұрын
CPapadakis Not at all, except the small bit about wishing Dimebag harm in a magazine interview, but that's not why Dimebag was shot, that was obviously a psycho. Still, the death isn't Phil's fault. Doesn't mean Phil didn't hold the band and the Abbot brother's source income hostage, which is what Phil has since appologized for. I wish Vinny wuold forgive him, but yeah, it is what it is. I don't think anyone rational blames Phil for the death, they blame fill for other reasons, which again, he has apologized for and I think everyone deserves a second chance. This is just a Vinny thing now, even Darrel's GF accepted Phil's apology...there's no story here anymore.
@taylortafoya24259 жыл бұрын
MrBarelylethal "He would attack me, vocally. And just knowing that he was so much smaller than me I could kill him like a fuckin' piece of vapor, you know, he would turn into vapor - his chin would, at least, if I fuckin' smacked it. And he knows that. The world should know that. So physically, of course, he deserves to be beaten severely." ~Phil This is what Phil said to the reporter (which was supposed to be off the record I might add). Interpret this how you will, but I'm pretty sure that he did not wish for anybody else, but himself to hurt Dimebag. He definitely did not wish that somebody would kill him. Here is a link to the article if you want to read the full interview: www.blabbermouth.net/news/philip-anselmo-dimebag-darrell-deserves-to-be-beaten-severely/

I don’t know why so many people said that metal was almost dead during the 90’s as Vinnie Paul also stated🤔 … The 90’s was arguably Megadeth’s most successful decade starting with “Rust In Peace” from 1990, then “Countdown To Extinction” - “Youthanasia” - “Cryptic Writings”. There were so many new kick ass metal bands emerging in the 90’s with “White Zombie” - “Cannibal Corpse” - “Rage Against The Machine” - “Type O Negative” etc.
