The first thing that drew me to Gyeon coatings is the "outdoor friendly" composition that allows a 12-hour cure time. Being I don't have garage access, this is an important factor for me. I've applied Gyeon Mohs to several cars including my own and I love the results.

One time I needed to call gyeon because my car got wet a couple days after coating it, so I looked on their website to try to find a phone number to call customer service. I couldn’t find a number but I found a number online on a different website (one of those sketchy phone number lookup sites) and called it. it was this Jeff guy that answered. He said I “called the right company but I had the wrong phone number.” I guess it was his *cell phone* number, but he took the time to talk to me for about 20 minutes about the coatings. That right there is why I’ll be at Gyeon customer for life.

Applied Syncro this past weekend outside, in less that favorable conditions (Florida). It was three or four degrees warmer than they suggest, but I was under a canopy, so no direct sunlight, and I started early. I was probably at the absolute limit in terms of temp and humidity, but it came out great. It was easy to apply, flashed, or should I say sweated super fast so I had to be ready to level instantly, but the results were fantastic. The car looks amazing. I was a Carpro guy, but lately I'm quickly becoming a Gyeon guy. They are absolutely killing it lately.

Pan, I prefer the high gloss ceramic coating appearance - How does PURE compare to Carpro SIC in terms of durability, slickness, ease of use, and longevity given you do the normal required maintenance of your coating? What does ONE and PURE compare shoulder to shoulder with Carpro DYI coatings, not including the professional or finest line? For example, does ONE compare to CQuartz UK 3.0? and does PURE compare to Carpro SIC?

How many hours after coating on average do you pour water on the coating? I love the idea of this but my clients vehicles can’t sit overnight for me. I give them back the vehicle after 1-2 hours of curing.
@waxmanvids5015 Жыл бұрын
@@ShineAndPreserveDetailing after an overnight initial cure.. i would have a hard time believing that brand new clean distilled water would do anything to compromise a small part of fender or hood that's been coated recently.. (a trick/cheat workaround for that would be to apply gyeon quick detailer or gyeon ceramic detailer on that section to protect it just for security)
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
You need to respect the instructions of the coatings you are applying. Most coatings require 12 to 24 hours of curing without exposure to water or rain. That is crucial. There are now some coatings with no curing or 1 hour of curing available on the market, so perhaps that would better suit you when needed.

I have applied Gyeon Mohs Synchro but had challenges with the application of the Skin. High spots occur unless you level super fast. Living in the heated environment of Arizona added to the challenge of super quick leveling. I ended up removing both coatings with a rotary and started fresh with just Gyeon Mohs Evo alone. This seemed to work just fine and is holding up after 6 months of application. Overall, two thumbs up to Gyeon Coatings.

Following me watching several videos regarding ceramic coatings, I decided to give the Gyeon Pure Eco a try. The main reason that I chose this product was the claims that this was the best of the line up of Gyeon range of ceramic coatings if you wanted to get a superb finish, good longevity and with "pop" to the colours. Furthermore, after what seemed an eternity (55 hrs in total) detailing my Jag XKR's Chianti Blue paintwork (a deep and rich sapphire blue metallic) to recover from an appalling respray before I bought the car, it seemed futile to not apply a ceramic coating. Slightly sceptical of what the results might but after thorough preparation I and a colleague applied the Pure Evo. I applied the Pure Evo and he did the initial wipe of by following me round the car and thus doing the initial wipe off at just the right time. I then buffed off the car noticing the steadily reducing drag on the final cloth as the coating began its curing stage. Never, and I do mean never, have I witnessed such a transformation happening before my very eyes. We both were speechless at the way this Gyeon product fulfilled all the claim of "popping" the colour and then some. The results were literally insane. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. Nuff said!!!!!!

I started detailing 26 years ago, and yeah things have changed quite a bit, but for the better in my opinion. Back then we were hard pressed to find a wax that would last more than a month. Now you have spray coatings that can last up to one year, super easy to apply, and ceramic coatings in glass bottles that can last for years and have much greater chemical resistance and hydrophobics.

Fantastic info and great description on each product! I use a different brand but each brand has their similar "levels" of coatings that this info can basically be applied. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that says "I can't afford to stock my shop with all these options." I like to give my clients options based on their needs and budgets but I'm not quite at a profit-point where I can afford to keep the whole product line in stock to take care of these needs. Until that changes I'm kind of stuck with offering two options. I'm sure that will change as my business grows though.

I have a new 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum Gun Metallic and the dealer put 3M PPF on the full front end (looks great) but kinda screwed up on things by putting on a Paint Sealant and not the Ceramic Coating I asked for for the rest of the car. This Sealant is a once application with 72 month warranty and not yearly re-applied unless needing to. The material is by the company First Canadian Products (under First Canadian Financial Group that does all car care stuff with detailers and car dealerships that get into business with them). Any ideas for ease of cleaning and hydrophobic effect coating to put over the sealant on the paint? I bought 303 Graphene Nano Spray and this can go over it and have Gyeon Wet Coat both just purchased yesterday. Unless someone has a good idea to suggest. Thanks.

After performing a complete paint correction on my 2021 (Black) XC40 T5… There are a few remaining light swirls and superfine scratch on the rear tailgate in a confided area. *Used Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound with Rupes DA Course Cutting Foam Pad. Turtle Wax Ceramic Acrylic Black Polish with Rupes High Performance Polish Foam Pad. Finished with Turtle Wax Ceramic Wet Wax. Question: What are the steps to rework this area?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
There are no miraculous solutions. You would have to restart the polishing. Always inspect your work with an inspection light after you are done with each stage. After the compound, inspect. After the polish, inspect. IPA wipe the surface after polishing, to remove polishing oils and fillers. Also, it's weird that you would finish by using the Ceramic Wet Wax... That needs to be applied on a wet surface, and dried with a microfiber towel. So you rinsed the car again after polishing, and then used Wet Wax?? The better thing to do after going through all the hard work of decon and paint correction is to apply a longer lasting base layer of protection. So if you like Turtle Wax products, their Graphene Flex Wax or Ceramic Spray Coating would have been two much better options, that would have given you 6-12 months of protection. The Ceramic Wet Wax is more for use as a maintenance product, and drying aid after regular washes, or once a month, to maintain the longer lasting protection underneath...

I have always wondered why most use a short nap towel to do the first wipe end a second wipe with a long pile nap microfiber. Is this needed or can you just wipe with a short nap towel. Because I would throw away the towels (glass scratching) and long pile naps are much more expensive (so trying to reduce my cost a bit). I would be using Evo cancoat, heard a lot of good things about this and just whip away with a short nap towel. It could be that it is just personal preference to use the 2 towels.

I'm having trouble deciding between CSL+ExoV5 or Syncro. My car is always outside most of the time in direct sun and I spend around 25,000 on the highway every year. I might have about 2 hours of shade or indirect sun to get the coating on.
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Both are top tier coatings, so you can't go wrong regardless of your choice. CSL with Exo is a 3-5 year coating. And Syncro is a 3 year coating (if you use 1 layer of Mohs and 1 layer of Skin) or 4 year coating (if you use 2 layers of Mohs, and 1 layer of Skin). Syncro EVO is perhaps a bit more forgiving if you have to work outside. But for both, I would definitely recommend not working in direct sunlight on hot surfaces. Work in the shade, on a cool surface for the best user experience. Your best bet is to wait until the very latest in the afternoon. June and July are months where the sun usually sets very late.

Gyeon Skin is an awful product to apply to a car. No matter what technique I use I'm always left with high spots I can't remove without polishing. Gyeon MOHS is a lovely product to apply and maybe better to put a top coat of Can Coat?

I never hear hardness of paint discussed as a decision factor. Does it matter? VW vs Honda?
@PanTheOrganizer6 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter when it comes to paint protection. Hardness of the clear coat is more a factor when doing paint correction, in the selection of the type of compound/polish/pad to get the desired level of defect removal and gloss enhancement.

Pure or mohs for daily winter driving where is salt and dirt everywhere?
@PanTheOrganizer10 ай бұрын
Hi Adam. According to Gyeon, both coatings hold the same ability in terms of chemical resistance. Gyeon Pure is a bit more bulletproof where proper maintenance can't be performed on a regular basis. MOHS is a great option if the vehicle can be washed well at least once every other week or so. So if you can clean your car often, go for MOHS. If you can't clean your car often, go for Pure. I hope this helps!

Hey Pan! I really enjoyed this video with Gyeon. AWESOME!!! I’m getting ready to put a coating on my GF’s car. It’s a 2022 Nissan, Gun Metal Gray and I’m on the fence between Can Coat or Q2 Wax as a base coat. I’m looking for gloss, slickness, beading, and sheeting. What’s the biggest difference when comparing the two for what I’m wanting and how many coats do you think is best for both? Also, what would you use as a maintenance topper for both? Thanks!
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
CanCoat EVO without a doubt has much longer durability. They are fairly equal for gloss, CanCoat has more slickness, and both have exceptional hydrophobics, the Wax having a slight edge on that. Only one layer is needed for each, no need to double up. For maintenance, you can use one of many options: 1) Bathe+ (a shampoo infused with SiO2) 2) Ceramic Detailer (as a drying aid, or QD) 3) WetCoat (as a spray-on rinse off sealant) I have a video on WetCoat here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4ibi5mvqrKGmbs A video on the Wax here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpXQkJlml7Jgmsk

Pan & folks- I want to ceramic coat my relatively new Model 3. I do not plan to machine polish it though. Should I still plan to do the strip wash? How about the higher alkinline mitt/hand wash after iron remover? I obviously will do the decontamination both iron removal & clay mitt. I may try to hand polish any microswirls or defects ( but not machine polish). I do plan to IPA buff clean the car before adding the ceramic coat. Does this seem ok? Any concerns about adding ceramic to this relatively new paint?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
The problem with that is if you don't machine polish, you have no way of guaranteeing 100% removal of any cheap wax or sealant that might be on the paint. Dealerships always apply some cheap crap on the paint prior to delivery, unless you gave explicit instructions for them not to apply anything on the paint (which they rarely respect anyways). If your paint beads water after you are done with your prep steps, you know there is still protection on there. And that's a big no no before applying a coating. Using stripping shampoos or IPA alone won't fully remove previous protection. Those only start the breaking down process of older protection. The mechanical abrasion/friction of pad and polish is what truly removes any previous layer. So if you plan on applying a true coating from a glass bottle, do it right. Decon wash, iron remover, clay bar, machine polishing, paint prep spray or IPA, and then you apply the coating.

@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the quick reply Pan! I was originally going to use Gyeon Can coat but decided to bump it up a level. Now I’m in over my head in that I have desire & time to do it right but didn’t want to spend $500 for a nice Flex polisher etc. I had hoped that Gyeon Polish and a lot of elbow grease might suffice with my six month old car. Can you point me to some “cheaper” options for DA polishers.? I don’t believe I can rent one of these ?? ….so sounds like if I want this coating, I need to step up with polishing. I assume I could go back to Can Coat or something similar without polishing? Thanks again
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
For any ceramic based protection, even CanCoat, you want a well prepped and virgin clear coat. Ceramic and graphene based protection needs to bond directly to a virgin surface if you want maximum performance and durability. You don't have to break the bank and spend for expensive polishers unless you are doing many paint corrections in a year and need a higher performance more durable machine. I made a video about affordable polishers here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqezdJ55pr14p5I

If I have a freshly ceramic coated car, for example its been coated in the last few days, and I get bug guts from the highway, should I attempt to remove them? Will they hurt the coating? A quick rinseless wipe down is safe?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
For at least the first seven days after the coating application, don't do ANYTHING. In the second week, a rinseless wipe is perfectly fine, and yes I would remove them. Just don't use any shampoo or detergents for 2 weeks with a freshly applied coating. Basically don't wash your car for two weeks. But for a quick spot removal, a rinseless wash and soft microfiber towel will allow you to remove bird bombs and bug guts.
@vincentiussnow765 Жыл бұрын
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks! So basically the quick wipe with a soft microfiber and some rinseless won't damage the coating in any way?

Pan, this is all great information. However, the one piece of information I always look for is which surfaces can the coating be used on beyond paint....glass, trim, wheels?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
It depends what coating you are buying. Some are surface specific, others can be applied on multiple surfaces. For example, CanCoat can be applied on paint, glass, chrome, wheels, and trim. Mohs is a paint coating only. You really have to look into the instructions of the specific product you are buying.

I would like to apply Crystal serum light on this vehicle. How do I know if the vehicle already had a ceramic coating in the past ? Please let me know, thanks. If it did, considering that it’s almost 2 1/2 years , is it ok to apply ceramic coating on this ? Please let me know , thanks.
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
Hi. One way is to ask the previous owner if anything was done to protect the paint. Or ask the place where you bought it. Another way to know is if you wash the car, and rinse it, if it has insane water beading and sheets water quickly, and it seems to resist multiple washes, it's a sign that there's probably a ceramic coating. If the paint feels slick and seems glossy, it's another visual indicator that there might be some protection on there. However, if you plan on applying a new coating, you would have to strip everything off and prep the paint well before applying your coating. As there might also be a cheap wax on the paint that the dealership applied (they all usually some garbage product before delivery just so it looks shiny for the new buyer). And you don't want ANY protection on the paint before applying a new coating. To give you an idea of how it's done, see a video I made showing a subscriber how to apply Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light with EXO on top, in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5DGnGB-o5Z0rKc Paint prep and application are CRUCIAL when applying a long lasting ceramic coating, as you want it to bond properly to a virgin clear coat.

So your 2022 winner is Carpro CQUK 3.0. What are your thoughts on this product? I am looking at Mohs EVO. I have used Carpro CQUK 3.0. Will you be doing a comparison video?
@PanTheOrganizer Жыл бұрын
CQuartz UK 3.0 was my favourite consumer grade coating for many years indeed. Great coating. The only thing is that more and more, other brands are releasing consumer grade coatings that can last 3+ years. Case in point, Mohs EVO which can last 3 years (1 layer) or 4 years (2 layers). So we'll see if the 2023 awards change. I hope that CarPro will release a CQUK version 4.0 with more durability, as the competition is serious. One thing is for sure, Mohs EVO is very slick to the touch and has great hydrophobics. It's so simple to apply. And it's a good upgrade over the previous Mohs. I had tested the CQUK with the previous Mohs and 18 other paint protectants in a real world durability test in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6ClhX-mh6t5rZY
