It was very good to hear you say it was a mistake to post a rewards video. That was the key thing, as a very fresh and new personally owned brand cannot be involved in a best of video at that stage. It may have been your own awards, but it still promotes you and people buy based on the reccomendations. It was never about how good the product actually is. That comes later via feedback. Keep doing all the decent work in detailing as we love the videos. Admitting the mistake was key!

I agree and I told him the same thing you can’t self promote your own product soon as it’s released the best way to advocate your own product is to allow others to review your product and provide feedback. That feedback will become solid. Remember, people purchased products based on other people’s recommendations I’ve been in marketing over 20 years and self promotion never works. It actually turns people away.

We need that 2024 awards video back! I watched the whole video before it was taken down. I didn’t think anything was wrong with it,but I knew people weren’t gonna be happy. I was surprised to see so many negative comments. So far I’ve tried Clean’s shampoo and panel prep spray (to clean glass). Both worked so well and smell amazing just like Pan said. Hey Pan, As a supporter who truly respects your opinion and hard work, I understand your frustration. Yes, you did release the video a bit too early, and people hadn't had the chance to get their hands on your products yet. You could have easily gone ahead with the 2024 product awards without including your products until the following year, or made an update/part 2 in about four months' time. However, I think you might be missing the point of view of the masses. While there were some haters, a lot of the disappointment came from your supporters as well. It can come across as a bit egotistical to give your products the number one spot, even if they truly are the best. You could have made the video and told people that you believe your products are the number one in their categories and urged viewers to check them out. We know you believe CLEAN is the best because you've stated it many times in different videos, and you wouldn't have released the line if it wasn't the best in your opinion. Then, you could have proceeded to give viewers your impartial opinion throughout the product awards without including CLEAN. I understand you've invested a lot of time and money into your product line, and that you were excited, possibly even trying to see profit sooner as I'm sure you invested a lot into this venture, or there may have been other business-related reasons. It would have been far better for you to let the dozens of other detailing channels give their objective opinion and rave about your products. People expect Matt to say that his stuff is the best, as that's his personality, but people were shocked to hear it from you. It's not the humble Pan that we all know & respect. Also, a lot of viewers live in countries that won't be getting your products until late next year, or even in countries that won't get them at all. Some people may not be able to justify the cost of your product being an import. ADS & DIY Detail are very expensive in certain countries (nearly 1.5 to 2.5 times the cost of Koch Chemie & Carpro). It would have been nice if you gave them some other options as well, maybe your top two picks from other brands also won't be available to them. Either way, I hope you see this as positive criticism and moving forward, allow others to talk about your products. Hopefully, you will trust that people understand that you believe CLEAN is the best and not include it in your awards. You don't need to promote your products as you are a household name in the industry. You have atleast 1.04M people who will buy your products: thats a huge market as it is (even if only 20% of your subscribers purchase CLEAN). I suggest you get your products to other channels, to review. I've already seen a number of other channels review your products. It's best that the other channels don't review all your products at once. Pick 20-24 channels and get 5-6 channels to review your products every quarter. That way, CLEAN is always talked about, not here today and forgotten tomorrow. It is consistent marketing. Maybe even sponsor some events. I'm sure you know all this, apologies, I'm just trying to help as I genuinely wish you success. Also, in addition to Pan's awards, user/viewers awards would be a great idea. Just don't stop Pan's awards with Pan's picks. Do the viewers awards in addition to your awards (seperate videos). For the record, I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of my CLEAN order and very excited to try out the entire range.

I personally think Pan is a KZbin/brand genius and this is the reason why - when you polarise people you make those you love you , love you even more to the point of advocating everything you do and making those who dislike you, dislike you even more but keep on trolling or dis’ing those they dislike. Both these sides of the viewership will boost views, likes, dislikes and sales as obviously people wanted to put Pans passion about his products to the test. Either way the PR across the board will boost his channel/brand even further. Whether all this was intentional or by accident you have to admire Pan for putting his heart out there to be beat around but still come out on top. I salute you sir 🫡

Good on you for this Pan. Specifically on the awards video, I think most people expected your products to feature, as they should! As you said the timing was just a bit off, it seemed as though the awards video was pushed forward only to promote the products and not to inform your audience and the wider detailing community on the top products. I think the idea of a people's choice is great, perhaps uncategorised to make it easier i.e. the top 3 favourite products overall. Spread a poll throughout the detailing community (DIY Detail FB page, your channel/website, forums, etc.), this could bring the community together, and attract more people to watch your awards video :) Much respect and love to you Pan, keep it up.

There’s a more than a TON of detailers on KZbin..Many that do good/great work & break things down in such an amazing way…BUT for me personally, Pan has always stuck out to me. Many years ago when I got into detailing, Pan was the 1st person I came across, watched & gravitated to. Yeah we’ve all seen the hate he get’s/got, & the negativity he gets in some comment sections sometimes here & there, but as a man at the end of the day, the way Pan handles it & continues to move forward & not give it the time of day, is another reason why I like with the guy! You responded to your subscribers and understood where we were coming from (the ones who didn't tantrum and say they un-subbed you, that is). We're behind you. You, sir, have the best of both worlds in your hands right now......1.04 Million subs, your own product line, and a ton of people who respect your knowledge, skill and experience in car detailing. 9/10 of everything I've bought to feed my detailing hobby has come from your recommendations....and I want to become the guy you remember as the "bug gut guy" who found your channel to remove an INCH of bug guts from a new (to me) car. Um. The first thing is whose idea was this video? Yours or our PMs? You sound just like him trying to justify his carbon tax. Anyway. I also have to disagree with you when you said everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I mentioned that we need to see more product testing and testing in real environments, but I was told that will not change anything on your KZbin site. I have since seen a good, unbiased review based on 2 months of use on a regular driver, and he will be reviewing it again in a few months in the snow, ice, and deicing on his car. That will be a real review to see. And we are not all haters when we say this stuff, but people who research like you do, and make our purchases based on that. I was also glad to hear that you may be changing your review views method. I also understand why you have only one distributor, but you must get your product out to more and make it readily available.

Just to be clear, the only people who are haters are the ones that simply come in and troll and cuss and use belittling terms and can't express their opinions in a respectful and grown up manner. I have zero tolerance for those that simply type stuff like "F**k you man!" or "I don't give a flying f**k about your products, you suck!" or anything that brings zero constructive criticism. I'm sure you know how toxic social media can be, and certainly as content creators, we feel and see that all the time. So if as a human, a person can't have a grown up discussion, and all they're here to do is use swear words and just act like keyboard warriors, that's where we draw the line. It's uncalled for, and at the end of the day, there shouldn't be emotions when we talk about car detailing products. Detailing is meant to be fun, there's no need to argue like high school teens about shampoos and sprays... Makes zero sense. But I'm totally fine with anyone that can share their opinion respectfully like an adult. But please leave any politics out of the conversation. It was unneeded in your initial comment. And I'm sure you can understand that. Also, I'm very careful of what you might call "unbiased" reviews, as when you dig further, you often find that the reviewer in question already has a negative bias towards the brand. I'm pretty sure I know the channel you are talking about, and he has already openly spoken against me in detailing forums online (my viewers sent me direct links to his conversations) so he can't be "unbiased" if he already has a negative mindset towards me. The bigger a channel gets, the more people get jealous or the more people hate to hate, it's the unfortunate way things roll. Of course those content creators will never publicly admit they are jealous, who would? LOL You can't be objective towards a product, if in your head you already start a test by hating the person behind the brand, or not being open to seeing actual results. And then there's also those that engineer fake negative results, as they have hidden agendas (i.e. they like to promote their own brand by putting others down). That's a completely different topic, but we have seen that done. But I will continue to be the Pan I have always been. I love detailing and will continue to share my passion with my audience.

Love the video. What turned me off a bit was when you made the statement that if people didnt agree with your assessment of your products that they were trolls or haters. I can't remember verbatim, but that was the general sentiment of the statement. Considering the best in detailing is often a subjective opinion, disagreement cant be trolling. Im sure something different was meant, but the words said didnt come across that way.

Hey Mike. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just to clarify, I always welcome constructive criticism or divergent opinions as long as they are respectful. What I meant when talking about trolls are the ones who are only there for drama, use demeaning and belittling words, who cuss and swear like immature teens, and bring zero mature conversations to the table. Usually people that we never actually interact in a positive manner with the detailing community anyways. Just saying "Hey f**k you man!" or "You're just a fu***ng this or that!" brings zero open doors to mature exchanges and sharing one's opinions. So that's where I draw the line. Trolls aren't fictional, they are a thing on social media. All content creators experience those, and I'm sure you are smart enough to know what I mean by a true troll. Some call them keyboard warriors. Basically those who feel all mighty and tough hiding behind fake usernames with no profile picture, and who type aways garbage comments filled with hate, envy, jealousy, etc. I have zero problems with someone that disagrees with me or doesn't like a product that I like, that's totally normal. There will never be a situation where 100% of people agree on a topic. Never in the history of detailing has there ever been a 100% consensus on something and that's part of what makes it fun too. What might be great for me might not be for you. What is amazing to you might not be to me. So we get to try and experiment and test a bunch of products, in the hunt to find what is best for us at the end of the day. :) Again, as long as people can have discussions like mature adults, that's all good.

Excellent video Pan as you always work hard and give your honest feedback. The idea for a people’s choice awards is a good idea. I would suggest the product has to have been in the market for six months in order to qualify. Detailers seem to think the newest product is always the best product. I look forward to seeing how you innovate the channel because change is healthy and necessary. I renter my chassis builder told me to get a new chassis every two years because fatigue sets in the chassis even though you are winning. Just make your charges measurable instead of changing a lot at once and not knowing what worked and did not work. As always my prayers are with you and your family.

People’s choice is intriguing but ultimately the winner of that will just be the big name brand that the most people use. That is a #1 in some regards but what I value most is seeing what new stuff is good enough to make the list. I don’t think I’m alone in that regard and I think that’s what interests people. You highlight a lot of new products through the year but unless it’s a head to head video we never really know where that product stacks up until the best of video.

Even though I didn’t ’agree’ with the awards show (I know it’s your awards, and you get to choose), that won’t stop me trying your products. Do I think they will be the best? Maybe, maybe not. I think he does a really good job of having a product line, but doing fair and unbiased product reviews.

Pan, I need to apply some wax to my daily driver. The water doesn't bead off at all-zero percent. LOL. what wax would you use? Just something simple. This car is not worth investing expensive ceramic coatings and such. It's a 2021 Civic and gets me to work and back. I live in AZ, with hot sun, and little rain.
