very tempted to order a set for my 2010 town car. to my understanding, they are actual LED projectors? and will offer better lighting than LEDs in a normal housing?

Yes, they are real LED based projectors and are the absolute best and brightest solution for lighting and far superior to LEDs in a reflector housing.
