Love mine. I did 2 mods. Removed Aider and made me a Paracord embellica cord from my bridge to the platform. Just stuck so if it comes off my feet it won't fall to ground. I haven't gotten my confidence up to repel yet.

Awesome tutorial. I’ve never hunted from a saddle but I’m starting to research them. The climbing sticks did not really appeal to me but this climbing platform does. I would’ve also liked to see your rappelling rig.

@@hashtagjustadad5110 I just posted a video of my one stick set up.

Now that you've used both, which do you prefer - the Panther or the Lean Ascent Alpha? A side by side video would be awesome.

@@transplantyooper really depends on the mission man. For mobility and hunting the unknown , I’m going with the Osprey. If I know my area and about which tree (familiar) … going with the Panther. I’ll work on a side by side video 🫡

I kinda like the mod you made with the bungie cord. I'll have to try it myself and see how I like it. The one thing I'm not crazy about is the aider. I probably won't use it but that doesn't change anything about how the platform works. I absolutely love mine and with this, I don't know why anyone would continue one sticking. But to each his own. Nice review!

@@jimowens381 thanks! yea… I’m sure muscle memory would kick in and the bungie wouldn’t be an issue. I recommend laying it over the cam post when climbing tho. You’ll just have to move it off the back before lifting it. Not a huge issue just one more step to remember. 💪🏽

Hard wood trees not pines are wide at bottom and quickly get smaller. Reason for aider. If you had worn hunting boots you would have seen the metal boot wrap in perfect. No need to fumble with bands. At 1000 lbs test weight est it didn’t bend or break and they stopped at 1000 I don’t use the bag, 30 foot rope etc with mine. Just extra stuff to fool with. All the time you spend fumbling with it is about equal to the time it takes to come down manually. Saves $ too. ❤ the quick climber for 3 weeks now.

One question I would like to ask you is do you use any sort of backup on the rappel line? I've looked at alot of rappelling videos and they say you shouldn't go hands free with your gri gri or madrock. I think I would feel safer with some sort of friction knot above the rappel device after I'm at height.
@Latituderanch3 ай бұрын
I use a friction hitch “above” the madrock when I’m hunting. Coming down I put a small d ring over top of it with about an 8 inch cord I put in the hand I’m pulling the lever with so it puts pressure over the hitch. This way I can still use my break hand! I’ll have to do a vid on that system. I get asked that a lot.
