NIL is the new way for adults and schools to pimp athletes. I understand the reason for NIL for college, but high school athletes? That's some next level pimp'in shit
@mkhanman123454 ай бұрын
Isn’t it just advertising/endorsements?
@keepitsimple0034 ай бұрын
@mkhanman12345 yes, since it's using an athlete's name, image, and likeness to promote the university and etc while an athlete is playing at the college level.

Pimp how?
@keepitsimple0034 ай бұрын
@@nhnj7543 Either your trolling or uninformed about NIL. College athletes are getting paid for name, image, and likeness. With this in mind, going to a power 5 school an athlete's NIL deal will be extremely higher than going to a smaller power 5 school. For example, go to Bama you get $1M vs go to Kent State you get $50k. Schools and adults/boosters will use money as leverage to influence top talented athletes to come to their school. That's how these adults and universities could pimp an athlete's decision. Especially if a top recruit is from a poor financial background (this is well known for SEC schools). High school level, I dont know anything about it. Other than that I don't agree with H.S. NIL since NIL ONLY applies to college athletes.

Why do y’all have an issue with this? Y’all played in the NFL. You told us it’s the 1% that means 99% of these kids aren’t going to make it to the league. So why not let these young ones capitalize as much as they can off their athletic career before it’s taken from them? This is America, it’s a free market. Make as much legal money as you can as early as you can. Yes, some will make mistakes but others will benefit. That’s life. Whether it’s 7-on-7 or real football. If these guys can make money playing the game, let them eat.

7 on 7 has been around but has grown tremendously since the NFL and international play has caught on to it. Also, for those girls having teams in high school and soon college it's going to continue to grow. Less serious injuries, lots of highlight plays(jukes, mosses,etc) and fast pace is always a plus

Not against them making money but the problem is do you rly think if you were 16 yo and you got a deal for let's say 100k that would make you work harder? Be a better human who understands the value of money? Hell how much of that you think your parents are going to want or would take? I just do not think it is a good idea at all for a child to make that kind of money that early in life bc they absolutely will not be an adult about it and will stunt if not destroy their growth as an adult and a human being and social media has made that bad enough.. And that's not even talking about the companies who are giving these deals and what their motives are and the kind of deals are going to try to get young people to sign thats going to strip them of any future money they might make that should be all theirs but it will end up in the company hands.. this is just not a good idea at all bc there are far more ways it can go wrong then it can go right and the child is the only one that's going to suffer

If you really peep, no NFL player is truly worth 30 million a year. It’s not that serious. A troop that’s in Afghanistan…a quality teacher…a neurosurgeon or a scientist is worth more. Making a tackle or running down the sideline or making a catch is not that serious. Taking a hit on a quick slant is not worth a million dollars. Setting the edge is cool, but 10 million 😂. Everybody should be able to get over and shout out to the high schoolers for getting paid. Football players from the 80’s and 90’s deserve back-pay because it was lawless then. It’s glorified 7 on 7 these days. It’s dudes with college degrees that served in the military barely making 50 thousand a year. High School players getting over like NFL players now…I see nothing wrong. Get the money however you get it in this system we live in.
