So, people asking questions about and expressing their feelings on religion in basketball is demonic? That's not at all how I interpreted this. Hell, Jennings even said his teammate Redd got him going to chapel before games and praying with him after games. He also suggested that maybe the man praying in the bathroom on the plane may have saved Kenyon and his whole team. It was a discussion. There wasn't anything demonic about it, in my opinion.

He saw a starter in Killian Hayes that no other team even saw as a 15th man on the bench. He mentally attacked Jaden Ivey who is a promising young player. That is what he has done with his recent teams. He picks 1 guy out to abuse. Ayton was his abuse victim in Phoenix before Ivey. You start Killian Hayes as a no hoper and start Ausar Thompson who shoots 18% from 3 and stick Cade with that burden when you already have a center that cannot shoot in Duren. He did the worst things possible to develop the best young players the Pistons had. It was probably the worst coaching job in the history of the NBA.

The argument of religion could be why Monte got fired? This seems crazy especially since he won the coach of the year in Phoenix and went to the finals...this seems crazy why they are talking about this as a possible reason why Monte got fired. Steve Blake is one of the biggest hardcore church going players, Steph Curry, Jrue Holiday, the champion winning coach Joe Mazzula, Al Horford, Jason Tatum and football and other sports all pray after a game so Religion is not the reason. This is crazy that this was brought up. Monty is a great coach and whoever gets him is lucky.

Different situations, it could have played better in PHX cause he had players that were more receptive to that or maybe he didn't push his beliefs on to them because they were vets, but when he went to Detroit he felt he had more control and influence over a bunch of young kids. Nobody is holding a gun to your head to convert and even if they did, someone could say they converted but it wouldn't be real so it doesn't mean anything. If Mark Jackson was a coach in the 90 or 2000s, there won't be issues with his beliefs. NBA is woke Ham more likely will be Piston next coach. Blake Griffin should have stayed with Pistons and help them rebuilt the team

Bro real talk. I am one of those sports chaplains KMart is talking about. NFL - MLB - NCAA Men’s basketball. My flow was different. I got my guys ready for battle. As a former overseas player, I knew preaching in the church was different from the locker room, and got my guys ready!! No one talks about Phil Jackson, but everyone dismisses Mark/Monte.

Mark is also an outspoken man who stands on his beliefs on matter what. Mark Jackson won’t be control or told what to say, Mark speaks for himself and to see a man willing to give up what he loves to stand on his beliefs is what our community needs. Too many of us selling out and going against our beliefs for a check. Mark stands on business no matter what

Nba ain't want Monty to produce young talent at a good pace, from leaving Phoenix establishing the young guys like mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and devin Booker. Now, going to the pistons, Monty wanted to do the same with new young talent. Sadly, he came out and said the refs need to let the guys just play, so I can see why he lost his job as the pistons head coach.

I don't know what this topic accomplish... but I'm strong in my faith, but I call dudes in the gym soft, I crush dudes like on the court. Yet I don't swear nor curse either. Saved men hoop, too. They made it seem like partying and being foul mouth makes your talent or play next level. This why I loved Tim Duncan style and Barry Sanders, they just balled.

The reason you hire a coach and pay him (at the time) the most money in NBA history is to make the team better and to make them "less sorry".. He did not do that. Not only that, he had the worst season for the Detroit Pistons IN THEIR HISTORY. No one was asking him to win the NBA Championship in his first year. Just be better than the last guy who they fired, and he couldn't even do that. This isn't rocket science.

It had everything to do with him. He started Hayes over Ivey for 30+ games. He played an all be chosen lineup for 3+ weeks, that lineup had a +/- well over (-115). He said, on game day, he's not playing all bench lineups anymore, a couple hours later he put in an all bench lineup. He then said, later on, he's going to only play the best players to help get wins and he's going to shorten the rotation. That same day he played 11 guys in the first quarter. He runs a high school level offense and a switch everything defense. He was absolutely part of the problem and he did a terrible job.

When did being a Christian equate to being “soft” in sports??? Many athletes in sports more physical than basketball, eg (football, boxing, mma etc…) are Christians who don’t use profanity and are still successful in their field. To anyone reading this take this a your sign to get your relationship right Jesus for he loves you and is waiting on you 🙏🏾
