Thank you. I am just now learning to do pantos in my machine, by myself, this helps a lot. If only I had a quilting assistant, now. Lol

This is one of the best HQ training videos I have seen. Very explanatory and relatable. Well done. Thank you.

This is a great video. I am new to long arm quilting and this video helped a lot in knowing how to follow a pantograph and repositioning for the next row.

Great video but wow moving the fabric to do the next row is confusing. I just bought a grace cutie frame but have not received it yet. Trying to learn before I get it. I guess it will be trial and error.
@lilolgreyhairdlady40934 жыл бұрын
instead of drawing lines on the Panto, I use little bits of painters tape to tape a length of bright thread. Works for starting edge, ending edge and top of quilt. For the starting point - just a teeny bit of painters tape that easily removes when I'm done.

What laser and where to buy. Mine doesn’t have a fine red dot to follow It’s a big red blob. Too huge to follow a panto
@HandiQuilter Жыл бұрын
You can purchase it at handiquilter.com . You can also adjust the size of the red dot by turning a part on the front of it with a screwdriver.

As a brand new long arm owner I am finding all of your videos very educational. I feel like I am learning a lot. Hopefully I will do my first pantograph today. Here is my question. Do you always do pantographs right to left? If so, why? When doing free motion that is usually done left to right. I know it is our quilt so we can do what we want. Is there a good reason to do pantographs right to left and free motion left to right?
@HandiQuilter2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. The reason you do the pantographs right to left is because you are at the back of the frame so the machine is actually stitching left to right which is the preferred direction for the machine to move to get the best stitching results.

For those complex designs I will sometimes draw little arrows near the intersections/crossovers to help me know which line to follow. There is still some time left in the demo and maybe this is covered?

I purchased pantographs from Urban Elementz and Willowleaf Quilting. Both have some "beginner" friendly pantographs that are easy to follow. Also, Urban Elementz has free paper pantographs that you can print yourself.

Hey guys- My HQ 16 does not have 'CRUISE" how do you suggest I make sure and get a sharp point?
@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu70134 жыл бұрын
You could try moving the machine back and forth a little to make sure you get a stitch at the point.
@dianastavinoha36963 жыл бұрын
You had mentioned you would show how to advance the pantograph, but instead showed how to advance the quilt. I was hoping to see both.
@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu70133 жыл бұрын
The pantograph does not move once you set it up. The fabric is what advances. The pantograph has a "ghost" line that you use to line up your previous stitching with.
@barbvallet76592 жыл бұрын
I am wondering, also, how to do 2 rows of the pantograph before advancing the fabric. My current panto is only about 4.5", and it would be great to do at least a couple of rows before advancing the fabric.

This is off this subject, but I would like to see someone put a design inside a block from beginning to end. I haven't figured it out yet. I do mostly quilts for customers and do not do custom but want to learn. If someone could show how to put blocks into a square or another shape or a border I'd appreciate it. I really want to learn more and more. Thanks!

Judith, Are you wanting to see this done in Pro-Stitcher or another method?
@suefliss72102 жыл бұрын
@@kristinawhitneyhqstudioedu7013 I second Judith's suggestion. I don't have Pro-Stitcher so if there is another way of doing it that would be great!

Don't draw on your panto, but put the plastic down, use masking tape to indicate start and end etc., and do your drawing on the tape.

I enjoyed the video, but you started to explain how to a second pass without advancing the quilt, then you stopped and showed how to advance. I am trying to find out how to do a second pass if the design allows without advancing and am having trouble as to how to place the pattern so they fit properly
@rebeccasorensen792513 күн бұрын
That was confusing. However, I'm thinking she realized she didn't have a second row. One video I watched the person started the quilt at the other end on the ghost row. Once at the other end on the right she traveled up the red line to do then next row which was their first "full" row.

Wow, Johnny was not listening at all to Kristina, immediately after her explanation of stopping with the needle down, he asks again because he was not even listening. How did the editors not even catch this? Her explanation starts @ 6:00, Johnny asks 20 seconds later about the needle down.
