This is - bar none - the best video instruction for pantographs. You taught me this in a class waaaay back when I attended a class in Columbus, OH. Please, never take it down! I refer to it every single time I do a panto, as I do them occasionally, although not for every quilt. Absolutely invaluable.

This was fun! I just watched a 27 min video and I don't even own a long arm, nor sadly have the money for one! This was a great video. I didn't know what they would have a light back there and why on earth handles, but it makes since. Plus for people like me, a stencil like that would be perfect! I thought I would have to put chalk Marks on it. It looks like fun to have a long arm.

I was able to find a shop where they let you go through a class to get certified to use there machines. Now I make my quilt and go there to quilt it. Which is good for me because I can't afford a machine. Nor do I have a place for it. Also they are there to do the maintenance on the machine and if the tension isn't right, they are there to call. Also, it gets me away from my house with people who have something in common with me. I've completed three now. Working on four and five. Hopefully before Christmas.

Omg lol I was quilting a quilt for a very dear friend who has now passed. I wasn't paying enough attention and quilted right through my finger. I broke the needle which luckily didn't get stuck in my finger. When you said respect for the machine, I had to laugh because I learned my lesson.

Thank you so much for a great tutorial! I have a question...I’m doing my first Panto on a quilt that has a small stop border and a larger border. I don’t want to do the Panto on the borders, because I want to do a scalloped border. How do I stop the Panto exactly along the edge without going into the border. I can use your trick of course by using painters tape, but I’m concerned about the Panto flowing on the border. Any suggestions?

Did you baste across the top and sides before you began?
@LindasElectricQuilters
@LindasElectricQuilters 6 жыл бұрын
Yes you would baste across the top, then the right side, then go to the left side. You will only baste the area that you are quilting, then roll and baste down the sides as you go.

Great Video! I am new to this, I didn't know you were supposed to put plastic on the top of the pantograph, where do you get the plastic from? None with my machine. Can you do a panto without using the plastic, what is the purpose.
@LindasElectricQuilters
@LindasElectricQuilters 4 жыл бұрын
We sell the plastic, but it is 24" wide and either 10, 12 or 14 ft long. The plastic help hold it down and lets you make marks with a dry erase as needed or put tape on it to make your markings without messing up the panto.

Are there any videos showing how to quilt a double row pantograph?
@LindasElectricQuilters
@LindasElectricQuilters 7 жыл бұрын
No there isn't, but you should be able to just go up to the next roll, quilt it out and then rotate up the same way as a single one. Just follow the red dots for advancement.
@angelcasalino6995
@angelcasalino6995 7 жыл бұрын
Linda's Electric Quilters the second row of this panto is intersecting with the previous row. Right now I am just advancing and move the laser to a different point each time and making sure the rows aren't running into each other. I was hoping there was a better way. lol

If you have a GS 1 table we have the plastic pattern shield you can purchase. If its a Home pro table, we have plastic you can purchase, you would just have to secure it to the top with screws that it has. Is it a white table top or black one? What is the width of it?

The table top is white and the measurement is 20” between the rails.

You could use the new style plastic. You would just take of the white edge covers on your table top and slip the plastic underneath. We dont have those online, but you could call us at 972-542-4000 and ask for Pattern Shield for HP table.
