Thank you so much!! Worked like a charm 👍✨ I added my Pantones from Illustrator into its Swatches Menu, then exported as an ASE from there. I had to navigate in Photoshop back to my Illustrator Swatches folder, but it all added in perfectly! Thank you again! 🤩

You're welcome. I wish I knew! It should work the same if you have the color books installed...but I've never tried that. We usually picked all Pantones from a book, then used the digital swatch (at my agency).

Thanks for the work arounds! Thought I'd feed back that when I did the screen grab, I had to watch for the swatch to appear in a transient little window at bottom right of my screen, grab that and drag/drop it into my .ps file before it disappeared. Using commandV to paste from clipboard didn't work. Not sure why?

It's under the Plugins menu, then you'll need to search for and install it.

WINDOWS > LEGACY is not availble in Photoshop 2024. IS there another way to access the Legacy area?

Extensions aren't available in Photoshop anymore; this is now a plugin you can install in your Creative Cloud app.

If you're just screen-grabbing from the extension then why not just go online for the color by that point and cut the middle man out entirely?

The reason I didn't recommend that is because I believe Pantone will eventually remove all online aids to finding their color mixes in hopes people will subscribe. And at that point, you have to hope whichever random blog you find has the correct color mix, since it won't be coming from Pantone.

I believe ACB is the older of the formats, and you'll only need it if you're using really old versions of Photoshop.

You should never pick color from a screen shot, esp Apple screen shot. Apple uses their own profiles which are not in line with pantone.... Btw if u want to pick a color from a pantone pallete by using a picker you can ofc. All you have to do is click and hold the picker and than drag it wherever you want - even outside of photoshop.... Anyhow this is not the way to do it.

This is good to know!! I always did it that way with our printers, and I never heard that it's the wrong way - we always got good results, too. But a lot of times they don't communicate with us, and they just fix it on their end.

There sheer greed of these companies is sickening. Its no longer fit for purpose if this continues. I use pantones every day of my life, i paid for colour books. I paid for adobe CC. I should get integration. Otherwise it is as useful as a chocolate teapot.
