Nice pantry :) If you're gonna keep empty jars on the shelf, might as well fill 'em with tap water. Then just tip 'em on the garden if you end up needing the jars. Always good to have a bit of extra water, especially if it ain't taking up any extra space than you're using anyway hey x

Guess I should can some beans, but we don’t eat alot of those. We use beans in chili, goulash, & bake beans. I should try canning baked beans. I will be planning on filling up jars with 2024 garden produce….God willing. This is usually the time of year I can chicken bone broth & beef bone broth. We have a lake I can haul water from if need be, but praying that won’t be necessary. 😃

LOL, this looks a lot like my pantry. I date the cans in the same spot, I take the bean soup mix and put it in a quart jar with the label taped on it just like yours. Nice! I like to do quarts of tomatoes instead of pints. I put rice in lots of things, clean juice containers, and those are in a storage tub, or I might pack it in a vacuum seal bag and put those in a tub. I sealed up 5-lbs of Gold Medal flour - and 'lost' it for a while. Found it last summer and it was a year past the exp. date. Poopy! But, when I opened it just to see - it was not stale. Surprise! I'm more of an ingredient canner, but sometimes I'll do a stew, but I'm not a big fan of canned carrots. Last year I bought baby carrots (which I think taste funny anyway) and canned them - easy peasy. But I'm feeding them to the dogs. I might as well get that shelf space back for something I like better. One thing I've discovered is that home canned pinto beans (only variety I've tried so far), are far superior to the store bought. But I have store bought, too. I like to take them and whirl them up with garlic and spices and mayo for a dip, or of course, put them in soup, chili, and burritos. I dehydrate summer squash, too, and I have the Excalibur. Love it. Try dehydrating cantaloupe - its very, very good, and so sweet, it's really tasty. I got some small wire baskets at WalMart a few years ago, and put things like boxes of Jello, Sure-Jel, etc. in them for better organization, and you can pull the whole basket down and look for what you want easier. You do a great job! Good luck with your channel. :) Edited to add: My husband order 40-lbs, yes you read that right....of Hatch chilies from New Mexico (or Arizona), like a box full of chilies. OMG> I did save some seeds and planted some in the greenhouse the next year, and I freeze peppers, but what I did to try not to waste them was roast some, and dehydrate the roasted ones on some trays and plain on other trays and them grind them up in the food processor. A jelly jar of powdered pepper is a lot easier to store. The next year, unbeknowst to me...he ordered 20-lbs. Still too many.....

Yes. Not ideal at all, but it was all I had. My house is less than 1300 sq ft. We have our central up there too but it does get warmer in the summer than the rest of the house.
