There can be a huge variation in how long foods are ok to eat after the expiration date. Personally I like to look up how far past the expiration date different foods are ok to eat. I like the website Eat by Date, but there are many places to find that information including the FDA. Good luck stocking up!

Your food is not "expired," rather it's past it's best by date. It doesn't magically go bad at 12 midnight of the date on the can. Pull those cans, and place them in a very central location on the counter, create a meal plan and use them up ASAP. Don't waste money/food by tossing them just because they are past the sell by/best by date.

I get that food does not go bad after midnight however, I do not want to chance eating at food after recommended date on the can but the next time I will look at the dates closer and might use those can in my meal planning

@@pamelablackstone3489 I speak from experience. If the can is undamaged, open it, look at the contents, sniff. 99.9% sure it is absolutely FINE to eat.

expiration dates mean squat on most canned foods. Dont throw it out. Open it, if it looks right, and smells right, it is fine. we are preppers...we have misplaced items (not rotated properly) last week used a can of roast beef that expired Dec 2020..not even a taste difference. Looks great..and just a hint..take a sharpie marker and put the expiration date on the front of the cans, jars boxes etc. Oldest in the back...when you DO purchase more, the new one goes to the back (if the date is later)..over the last 20 years we figured that was the simplest rotation system...Great job

Thank you for your comment. I will use those ideas. The next time I organize my pantry thank you for watching my video and you have a great day.

Expiration dates don't mean anything. Food is still good unless dented
