We don’t have shortages yet and not much price increases but I know it’s coming. Portable Water is an issue throughout the world. There is a desalination process, but it's only bought out for usage during diasters in 3rd world countries. It is best to know water sources within your home and how to access it, utilize the liquid within canned goods to cook them then save for later meals. God does shower many with cool wet Blesses from above regularly. Learn to maximize that Blessing with Rain Barrels/Reserve Tanks above or below ground and soaker hoses in Fruit Bush Hedgerows, Fruit Trees and Edible landscape gardens. Be well and be Blessed.

To simplify space on your shelves just stock Sugar. It can be Powdered with a high powered blender or made into Brown Sugar by adding Molasses back into it. Molasses lasts forever in glass jars. No more rock hard Brown Sugar or spilled leftover Powdered Sugar, because you can make just what you need at the time that you need it.

It tasted great and didn't contain corn syrup like the pancake syrup. =) As for shortening, I don't think Crisco has an expiration! lol Canned meats: I love them for bbq sandwiches, beef and noodles, and chicken casserole type dishes. =) Yum! The shortages really showed their dirty face today for me. I placed a pickup order at the local Walmart because hubby had to undergo a surgical procedure this morning and I knew that would be a quick and easy way to fill in the gaps from our last few weeks usage from our pantry…well out of 33 items I ordered I only got 17 of them! 50% of basic kitchen staples were not available. I’m glad hubby and I can grow lots of what we eat and know where to source elsewhere most anything else we really need to sustain ourselves.

I use “hard white” wheat berries. It produces a very mild, light colored bread. However, the recipe I use uses a combination of hard white wheat AND bread flour. Your statement is TECHNICALLY true but yet entirely misleading. It is obvious that you don't know enough about chemistry to understand that being 3 or 2 or even just 1 molecule(s) away from plastic doesn't really mean anything. Yet you are more than willing to spread the rumor! Is Crisco (or for the same reason - margarine) almost plastic? A simple YES or NO doesn't work because chemically speaking, yes, they are almost plastic as they have all of the same molecules as plastic, except for 1/2/3. Bumper is that this isn’t how organic compounds work. Like literally everything, Crisco (or margarines) are formed by molecules. Since everything is made of molecules, the molecular structure of certain things may look similar, however, that doesn’t mean the end outcome is the same. For instance, all species or all prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells contain DNA, a molecule that contains the instructions an organism needs to develop, live and reproduce. Yet, while all humans have this molecule, we are all different from one another let alone how much we differ from other species! How and when these molecules bond together impacts what kind of product is made at the end. Even though they have similar molecules, Crisco and plastic are far from similar. Just one different molecule is very important not just for cases like Crisco/margarine and plastic but also for things like ethanol and methanol - one is safe to consume and the other could be fatal. Basic knowledge of molecular compounds and bonds disproves the claim that Crisco is almost plastic.

I actually bought some last week at the grocery store! It has some questionable ingredients so I’m going to try to get some from a local butcher and render it myself…after the holidays.😁☀️
