I confess, I love to see an organized pantry. Last year when we started the pandemic at home I gave a good organization to mine and since I couldn't get out and just buy jars I recycled all the beens and honey ones. Labeled them and I used to open the pantry doors several times a day just to admire the shelves organized!! 😂 I love your new pantry! Thank you for sharing! Have a beautiful weekend!! 🙏🤗

@ScandishHome
@ScandishHome 3 жыл бұрын
That would be a very looong video😂🤗💗We are down to gluten and dairy and soy allergy and some mild food sensitivity here and there but it's looking good at this point. We did the GAPS diet that was a great restart button on our gut and we slowly added back food groups. We started by replacing the easiest meal and that is lunch/dinner and then we found alternatives for breakfast. With my older one it started with one pea at the time😂then 2 than 3 and we managed to pump it up to a full bowl of peas. Additionally we found an amazing nutritional therapist who does the kinetic muscle test and with the support of supplements (helping the stomach acid and bile and liver) and using herbs we are really good now. 💗

I totally agree about the narrow shelves! Our old pantry had 24 inch deep shelves and, while they stored alot all of stuff, I couldn't see any of it! It all got pushed to the back! The new pantry has narrower shelves and I can see everything and my family has been forbidden to put anything in front of what I'm storing 😆

Could you do a question and answer video? For example these are some of my questions. Why did you choose to homeschool (is it because of the kids allergies or religion or something else). Whats in your fridge/freezer? Do you grocery shop on a budget? Do you meal plan daily/weekly/monthly? If you had a day where the house was spotless and the kids and husband where gone for the day, what would you do? Do you ever go back to Hungary?
@ScandishHome
@ScandishHome 3 жыл бұрын
Home schooling has many reason why we choose it( one reason was the food allergies) but I don't think I'm gonna make a video on that topic. We have a chest freezer in the garage and we only have meat in there that we buy from a farm and the little freezer we have under the fridge we have gluten free bread and some veggies and other vegetable related items, some prepared meal but I'm planning to make a food prep video very soon. Grocery budget, we don't have a set amount but we usually trying to stay under a certain amount, we try to find the best sources where can we find it cheaper but also we buy things in bulk(and once a month) so one week we spend less one week we spend more whatever make sense at the given time but I look forward to have the garden again' Last year I didn't had to buy any lettuce and that was a great feeling. Hopefully eventually we can produce our bigger chunk of veggies that we eat in our garden. I don't think I had a day when my house was spotless😂and I don't think I ever will, we use this house so there's just gonna be at the state it's not overwhelming but have some things out and needs to be cleaned. We do take day trips to the mountains and by the river and many other places we like nature more than any other programs, but not this year we have so much going on with starting the garden and the moving. We don't visit Hungary it's very expensive for the plane tickets and our allergies would be tricky to handle. Some day we gonna show for the boys for sure.🤗💗

For the ants you must find where they enter from and put sole ASH in there. And for the millet you can turn it into a powder and put it in for example barley soup with little bit of cummin or origano, salt and olive oil it's super delicious.

** ANTS ** If you line the shelves, corners, and along the baseboards with BAY LEAVES (yep, bay leaves) the ants won't come inside. They do NOT like the smell of bay leaves. This is a safe environmentally friendly way to deter ants (and of course it doesn't hurt the ants either, who are just looking for snacks and shelter). I once lived in an apartment in an old building and each spring my son's bedroom was taken over by huge ants. I read about bay leaves somewhere, gave it a try, and no more ants. Take care.

I have the same problem with those labels peeling up. Some times I find them laying on the floor. Your pantry is very organized and pleasing to the eye. I don’t think it needs a door since it looks so pretty 😁 i love to look at mine. I love all my jars 🤣

We eat buckwheat by sautéing onions and mushrooms first, adding buckwheat and chicken broth and simmering. You can then Add some small pasta, usually bow ties and have a healthy, savoury meal.

You may like Boston Spices "It's All Greek To Me" spice mix. It's awesome on fried eggs. There is another one from that same brand called "Public Garden". That is good on oven roasted veggies. My mom buys it on eBay.

I think you have to let people know not to use the ash for cleaning unless they wear gloves, I didn't realize till my husband said, well of course it will clean it's lye!!! Which makes sense because they used ash for making soap in the olden days

Blessings from Maine. 🌻 You're an inspiration, thank you so much! Your pantry is beautiful. Thank you for your honest tips and helpful advice. I just discovered your channel last week and have a lot to be inspired by. Also, I was wondering if you have use buckwheat flour? We use it a lot here and make Ployes. They are a much healthier version of a pancake, but it is thin like crepes. The taste is so sweet and delicious, you hardly need any sweetener, you can throw some fresh fruit on them too if you choose. Have a good day.
