COUGAR Panzer Max Full Tower case product page, cougargaming.com/pt/products/c...
Cougar Panzer MAX is an impressive ATX full-tower at $129.99 retail. The overall construction and finish is very good. It's very similar to Corsair 600T chassis, but with military inspired design. The Panzer Max allows E-ATX, SSI-EBB and 4-way SLI video card systems. You can install up to 390mm long video cards. The case measures 226mm wide x 612mm tall x 556 mm long. It has a front panel fan control and can hold up to six 2.5" SSDs or four 2.5" and two 3.5" HDD. CPU cooler height up to 170mm tall.

Best case ever had ! 1. Perfect air flow 2. Easy installation with plenty of room 3. Great cable management 4. Nice aesthetics 5. Filters everywhere 6. Steady construction (the side panels solid non flexible) 7. 3*140mm fans installation (hard to find 3*140 front intake case capable) 8. Fan controller 9. Corsair-Collermaster etc. killer price (118€) in Europe. I am wondering why top youtube case reviewers not even mention at this diamond! Thank you sir for your review!

Always nice to see stuff from Cougar! This case looks pretty nice. My first case was a Cougar Volant, it was one of their cheaper cases but it was sturdy and got the job done, and the hot swap bay came in handy quite a bit.

I agree the biggest use is a combination of drives. I have a Plex server that is starting to push over 12TB. 3.5's are perfect for that kind of thing and I managed to get 16TB of storage for about $200. Since the drive speed isn't important, it is the best solution. I still run the OS on an SSD, though.

I have 4 3.5" drives in my NAS, so they are still used and very usable, also stable. Nothing wrong with them. I know what you mean about affordability, most just seem to have an unlimited budget. I have an X99 system that I will probably have for the next 10 years as I can't afford to get the latest X299 system with the mighty 18 core CPU. 2K for a CPU is insane. I spent $300 on my I7 5820K and that is as much as I care to spend. I say build the best you can afford on your budget and be proud of what you built.

Weird Question: Instead of a radiator on top bracket, can you install THREE 120mm Fans under the top bracket and TWO 140mm fans on top of the top bracket? So there will be 5 Blue LED fans on the top of the computer pushing air out. Fans on Both sides of the top bracket with both Blu-Ray drives still installed. Does the Blu-Ray drive bay have to come out in order to have a 3rd fan attached under the top bracket? Is so, then what about THREE 120mm Fans on top of the top bracket and TWO 140mm Fans under the top bracket ??

This is the first realistic review of this case I've seen. Other people nit pick over things that aren't worth complaining about. It can hold loads of fans, radiators, the plastic redirection plate you don't like can be removed for a larger radiator. The harddrives do get airflow btw, I checked after watching this video. While it may not be much, other cases probably have none.

I have this case still, had it for almost 5 years now. I wanted a decent case that is big enough to be comfortable to work in, and this fit the bill nicely, with a great price tag. But I didn't really like the fans and the controller, went with 5 140 and a 120 be quiet silent wings 3, and a phanteks fan control hub. The gold finish on the Cougar logo has weared a bit, but still a great case overall.

honestly, I gotta big ATX case with the window, its cool, you can see all the pretty lights. But, when you gotta clean it or move it, those handles would be nice. Actually, if a case maker could add the handle that extends out and wheels, like an ice chest, that would be great, then you can just pull out the handle to extend it and roll it around the house when you need to, mostly just to clean it or when your adding new drives or video cards to you setup. Anyway, I like this case and am currently considering getting this one. As I am constantantly laying my head phones on something. Also I like the way you take the sides off. As I started of with top of the line I7, top of the line MB, and top of the line Titan X five years ago, but, had to make cuts somewhere, those 3 items were 1700 back then, so I got a cheap case 2 sticks of memory and 1 500 gig drive. Which required me to open the case once a year to make an upgrade. Looks like a great case, and yeah, I used the big drives for backup photos and videos, 6TB for $150 dollars, if that was SSD that would cost $650 dollars.
@10ee

Looks like a nice case. I always love the relaxed sort of feeling in your reviews in general, Bill. I think the only issue with the case is what looks like a clash between the airguide and PSU shroud and a potentially thick front triple 120mm radiator, kinda like the original Master Case 5 Pro. But at least the CM case had 55mm of space between the front fascia and the metal chassis for rad+fans. Otherwise I'd agree with the 9/10 score. Pretty good case, and I like the filter material, which is fine to keep dust out, but not restrictive at all. Thumbs up!

Yes, it's removable, Maximum 360 radiator thickness allowed in front, between PSU shroud and chassis is 30mm thickness. Same allowance if you mount radiator on front of chassis, behind the front bezel. To allow thicker radiator, you will have trim the PSU shroud, which would be easy, since it's plastic. I've done a few "scratch-builds" over the years, but never really video documented them, other than the Mod Men PC in this series, kzbin.info/aero/PLtGuyF7aQwstt6O5ln-yJmZyDVkhibD6L bit-tech.net forums "member project" subforum is great place to see documented "scratch builds" over past decade

What a great case! One minor thing: no USB 3.1 gen. 2 ports. I am not even talking about the USB type C... I wondered when motherboard and case manufacturers will let the USB 2.0 go away already? As for the 3.5" drives for storage? My answer is: "Yes, of course"! I use five of the Hitachi 8TB NAS ones which I've set as a raidz2 in my Cooler Master Storm Trooper box. With the Samsung Evo SSD working as a cache for this ZFS HDD pool which makes this HDD pool pretty fast. I also use the 512GB PCIe M.2 Samsung 960 Pro as a system drive. I wish I could afford this amount of a SSD storage... Well, maybe in a three or five years I would. With something like Intel Optane or Samsung 960 Pro working as cache drives for that future SSD raidz. I am pretty confident that all my HGST HDDs would still remain in a good shape by then though. Thanks for this review.

Good video Bill. I really like the look of the case, looks like a cross between the Corsair 780T and Cooler Master Pro 5. The way the front panel pops out is genius. My issue is the USB 2.0 ports. I would have assumed newer cases would drop 2.0 ports. Also, not a huge fan of built in fan controllers on cases. But a lovely case and beats my new Corsair Carbide 600Q hands down. Ps, I do NOT recommend the 600Q.

Agreed, I always use my motherboard fan headers of add pwm fan hub to my builds, thanks for heads up about the 600Q, I havent seen it in person yet... and did get confirmation that the Panzer Max is made by Corsair's OEM factory that made the 600T and 780T chassis, I've posted some photos of the P-Max here, mnpctech.com/cougarpanzermaxcasereview.html

Maximum 360 radiator thickness allowed in front, between PSU shroud and chassis is 30mm thickness. Same allowance if you mount radiator on front of chassis, behind the front bezel. To allow thicker radiator, you will have trim the PSU shroud and remove the AIRGUIDE shroud.

I think that the only mistake about the Panzer Max is the air intake for the hard drives and the SSD... Does anyone notice that if you setup a radiator in the front panel pushing or pulling air to the inside of the case it would be just hot air to the hard drives? I can't see the way to setup a radiator in the front panel and flows cool air to the hard drives...

still use 5.25 drives. i need my Blu-Ray rips and CD rips. other than that don't use it for much. but still like having it. the other thing is that i have a lot of need for low cost high density HDDS. as a stock piler of junk and other crap... i run out of drive space every other year so... yeah. but it helps having extra drives handy incase you need to fall back on one. just saying.

This will be 2nd pick for a friends build. Odds are tho its what will go with after rewatching this review. Case would be great for a star wars theme. Already know what would replace the mesh with to help that along as well. Thanks for the reveiw/ preview it helped alot. Where the air duct for the behind the motherboard, would it not be better to just mount some 80mm fans to push air in there?

I still have (1) 2TB HDD for miscellaneous storage. Basically a drive I use as junk. My OS is on an M.2 stick and performance applications on RAID 0 SSD (2) 500 GB. This case is great. I agree the air guide is kind of nonsense. After you fit all of the components, motherboard and video card(s) there's really not much air getting back there to the hard drives. That's my only gripe. Also the rear 120mm fan would not fit with my motherboard. Most of these modern motherboards (ATX) have that I/O shroud. The I/O shroud on my board was pushing against the rear fan. So I had to get a 120mm fan adapter, offset it by 1mm and mount a 92mm fan to it. Other than that it's a very good case. I love how easy it s to remove things. There's plenty of space and it looks great. I love the military look.
