Im going to Japan around November 2019. Im super nervous! I'm going alone. (I have no friends🤣) Ive been taking small trips to prepare for International travel. I love seeing all the love to Gion and Kawaramachi area! My grandmother lives right in the Gion area near Sanjyo Kawaramachi, it’s the greatest area to be when visiting! My grandmother have never even ridden in a car (except taxi) until several years ago when she got injured because everything is so close by. My grandfather was a professor at Kyoto Daigaku (Kyoto University) and researcher. My grandmother’s favorite was Takashiyama. What’s great is that it’s still have a lot of old school services like the yaoyasan (produce store) that comes by and sells out of their truck, dry cleaners that come by to pick up and drop off, etc. so there really was no need for her to get in a car. Kawaramachi train station is only one block away! I can’t wait to go back! She actually still had the traditional Japanese bathrooms , bath tubs, kitchen, etc till my grandfather passed away and then my mom and her sister convinced her to renovate. I can’t wait to go back! It’s been so long since I have gotten to go back to Japan and visit but it’s great to see your video Paolo! So much changes so quickly!

Update to say, we could not have traveled Japan without you! I watched (what seems like) all of your videos and we actually spent an unexpected day in Odaiba because of them, which by the way, was excellent for kids!!!
