Excel sheets, CAGR, Market cap, Turn over, Cash flows... And the quite visible love for data should make your father either a strong CA or holding a strong position in some mutual fund house. I am sure he would have gone through the board of directors and the top brass of these companies as well. Definitely a Cool dad :)

@@kishorepurswani1212 Hi Mr. Kishore absolutely loved the way you decomposed the problem statement. Its actually a nice framework for developers to evaluate a company. Its a more objective evaluation rather than Amazon is bad and Google is best extremes. Would love to watch more collaborations between dad-daughter duo. I am sure you must've full blown methods to track finances, ESOPs : their current values, the taxes they attract, system to plan track financial goals, how much to invest, where to invest, retirement planning. I mean most of us have some idea on this. But I think we all lack systems.

Regarding the future projection to increase the number employees in company can sometimes have a very bad effect on the current culture and talent in the company. I work at Thoughtworks, which is hiring pretty aggressively and hiring bar decreased. Because of many folks with poor talent, folks with good technical background have left the company. This is a good case study.

If an organisation wants to grow it will certainly need resources and the mot important resource is the Human Resource but you cannot compromise on the quality of resource. If the organisation compromises then literally it can't deliver the results and will not grow.

I think your father did a great job. However, I am being the devil’s advocate here as there is some misinformation about small cap/ mid cap companies. Past is not always a good indicator of future performance. If you are deciding based on the stock performance you should think about your risk tolerance. If you are new grad or doesn’t come from well off family then I would suggest to pick a large company.

Thank you for your good comments and suggestions. You are right higher the returns higher is the associated risk. One can find multibahgers from smallcaps and midcaps only and not from large caps. Past is certainly a lagging indicator and one needs to look at lagging indicators such as orders in hand, orders in pipeline, products under development, products likely to commercialized etc etc. This is from investment point of view. However from an employee point of you one needs to look at growth alongwth stability but if one is sure of his/her skills then there is nothing to be afraid about. So one should keep on honing the skills so that one always has an upper hand.

I agree on most of what you said sir. But I disagree on one thing - honing skills and being confident about their ability doesn’t always translate to getting a good job. In USA, we are seeing job freeze effecting many people. My job offer was put on hold by one of the top company but luckily I did have another offer. There is a lot of uncertainty in market and we should not underestimate it.
